Not a chance a team is spending 150mil on a player they can get for 60/70mil the season after with another year of first team exposure, especially with the pandemic. 100mil or there abouts is a 80mil profit on a player they’ve had for 18 months. If they sell Sancho as well, that’s 200mil for a rebuild. I don’t think they’d turn that down.

Why not? we were asking the same for sane, when they could have him for a lot less the year after. We still got up to 60m for him when they could have got him for free the next year.

It's exactly this, going rate. Wages are what they are...the market determines what the rate is for top talent and your choice is either to pay up or sign someone else. We should obviously just pay the money.

Can we compete with Man Utd and Real Madrid etc? In footballing terms yes, but in financial terms recent evidence says no. Doesn't mean that will always be the case though. If I were him and given the choice I would choose City. It's not like he's a South American player with their links to the two Spanish clubs.

I find it much easier to buy into a Haaland transfer topic than Messi. We should be looking for players for the future and Haaland is the obvious target for all the top sides.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Bales contract is up 2022 and if they can move hazard on too that's something like £1m a week in wages off the books. They'll throw mental money at Mbappe.

i feel what could happen this summer is the so called elite clubs like barca and real madrid will try and block transfers with agreeing to sign players like haaland in 12 months time when they could have the money. its like paying a loan fee then loaning him back

but i feel haaland has set is sights on manchester city and the premier league. city got the money to pay in full and offer the best chances in england and europe. i think this is key to the club haaland signs for he wants trophies and not promises in 2 or 3 years time with a building project

manchester city have to smash the transfer market this summer when the FFP rules are slacked ? get 2 or 3 marquee players at once this summer and splash £400million on the forward line. if i was in haaland boots its a no brainer really the best english club. the best manager. the best players. the best fans. i would be like if KDB is in the squad then am signing. because he could find me in the dark he's that good
