Erling Haaland

Though he looks like the world's best prospect, so did Sancho.
It is a long way from being a potential transfer to being part of the strongest XI and a massive drop-off when he doesn't play. I am excited by Haaland's potential arrival but we will also have, already, one of the best squads in world football and it will be supplemented by the return of Palmer, the development of Delap, the continued excellence of Foden, the integration of Grealish, and so on...
I saw Sancho a fair bit at The Academy and on numerous occasions i uttered "Pass the fuckin' ball!" Too many times he wanted to demonstrate another example of 'twinkle-toes' and the chance that the queue in the middle is waiting for has gone! He'd have missed a good few chances yesterday!

If Real do owt in the CL this season, like winning it, he'll fuck off there, and miss out on developing under the greatest coach in the land and all the world.
He’s not deciding his future based on the outcome of a CL semifinal, especially in a situation in which Madrid would be winning (knock on wood…) because they got the world’s best on form 9 anyway…

Benzema might be knockin' 'em in, but he's also knockin' on. Like us, they want an early twenties striker. Mind, how many would the old geezer have got us yesterday!

The worrying thing about this thread is that it is very similar to the thread on RagCafe when, six weeks after he had joined us, the Rag hordes were drawing up starting elevens that included David Silva. If Real do owt in the CL this season, like winning it, he'll fuck off there, and miss out on developing under the greatest coach in the land and all the world.
You seriously believe Haaland is watching the CL this season to decide which team to join? Regardless if we or Real win the whole thing, or get knocked out in the QFs, it most likely has zero impact on his decision since he is an adult and understand it changes nothing for his personal career in said club next season.

They will have an young striker, Mbappe. Florentino Perez isn’t one to care about old squads. They have no problem having Modric still as a protagonist at 36. They still have two or three seasons of Benzema, and especially the next one they will want him and Mbappe up front (the France squad forwards in the World Cup season). It’s no coincidence that the Spanish media started the baseless false rumor that Haaland would be demanding a three-year deal with us only. In three years, they could lure Vlahovic out of Juventus, for instance

I am serious about what goes through a player or agent's mind and the CL is only one element in the equation. If it's a toss up and all things are equal then whoever has the hand on the CL trophy could tip the balance. It's not the only thing, Money is probably the greatest motivator which is why the Rags, along with the quality of team mate and coach. We are well set up, as good as anyone across Europe on that front. But in the early days of the Good Sheikh's Beswick reign we had some trouble persuading players to forego the charms of a London club and come north.

As it happens, it might be preferable to Haaland if we don’t win the CL before he joins.

I’m sure he’d like to be the man that fires us to our first.

I don’t put too much weight on the outcome of a potential semi vs Madrid.

Let's just get Haaland first

Delap could be an option on the bench along with Alvarez?
Think we forget that Alvarez is the top striker for Argentina who are one of the favourites for the World Cup . If we were signing him from la liga or serie a this guy would £50 million easy .

Two extremes! Hahaha. Fuck that. I want us to win it this season.

Either way, it’s an irrelevant factor
