Dya expect em to be dancing a jig? Mate, we're ALL devastated & bewildered how we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, but we've got a league to try & win!
We pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, come to terms & move on from the defeat & put everything into beating Newcastle who've had a week off & not had to travel overseas & suffer a devastating exhausting defeat after extra time.
Not focusing on the last four games of the season would be an even bigger travesty than last night. If you asked me about the PL or CL priority 24 hours ago, it's still the PL for me. The CL is just a monkey we've got to get off our backs.
With a couple of strikers, a RB (I think Cancelo is a better LB) & a World class CDM to replace Fern, don't you think we'll be better placed to challenge on four fronts next season, than we were with this season's wafer thin squad?
Since Atletico away we've been running on empty & KDB's performance proved that. Pep prefers a smaller squad to give high profile players the chance to play. HOWEVER, this season our squad has been rinsed & it's evident by the lack of substitutions in certain matches that Pep trusts a smaller number of the players than he's got available.
Cancelo, Laporte, Bernardo, Gundog, Sterling & even Fern have all complained about the lack of playing time. It's games like last night's that they want to be a part of, not playing Watford (with all due respect).
It's now gonna be a balancing act to get this playing balance right next season & to also integrate the EDS squad members knocking on the first team door. Pep is the man to handle all of this, but in the immediate, we've got Newcastle to overcome. And that means EVERYBODY, from the players to the fans, the coaching staff & management being focused on the task at hand.
From tomorrow, we go again & try to win versus Newcastle & so on & so forth. We can't do this with our lips wobbling & balling like babies.
