Of course we have. The suggestion that the owners don't expect any trophy won but mere competing for any is food enough and what is expected, is what is balls though.
That isn’t what anyone is saying, yes they want trophies, but there is nobody saying Pep or anyone must win the c/l, or winning it is more important than the league. All they expect is to be getting to the latter stages of it, and eventually the win will come.
Nobody can point to one single quote from the club when it’s been said we must win the champions league, but there are many quotes saying the league is the main aim and latter stages of cups and averaging winning one a year.
Yet the media ignore that to project their own views and some posters take their position over what the club consistently say.

See my edit above, Pep muddied it a bit by applying that to all competitions. Otherwise, agree on the CL.

Yeah although it is bullshit. Have they fuck said that. When we won 'just' the league cup and came second in the league, competed in the CL and FAcup till the semis so almost the end, Khaldoon firmly said it wasnt enough and the expectation was higher. When we won the league and league cup, he said the club was pleased but wanted and would see improvement in the CL. At the very least, the 5 trophies in 5 years when they hired Pellers is the minimum benchmark (Which Pep obviously smashes btw) and not just competing for trophies. We are not arsenal or spurs, or now utd.

I get what Pep is doing, he is defusing it, and taking the imploed pressure off, and it is probably the right thing to do at this point. But it is bollocks and he knows it.

If the owners were so obsessed about the CL alone, they would've sacked Pep by now.
