Erling Haaland

City have decided a move against Mbappé due to his wages apparently according to Athletic.

Lets hope Haaland's wage demands are good enough for City.
Mbappé's wage demands are going to be so large due to his profile. He's had 4 years now of being branded as the next big thing, he's played an important role in a world cup win, he plays for PSG, he's got big links with Nike and Air Jordan through PSG. Basically he's extremely marketable already and he's only going to increase on that front, and with his age that's going to last a loooooong time. So he can demand huge wages.

Right now Haaland's major appeal is solely on the pitch stuff. That may change but he's not in the position to ask for what Mbappé would. He might ask for a big amount but I don't think it'd be beyond anything City would offer.

The only person who could bollocks up Haaland moving to City is Txiki Bergiristain. He blew it with Hazard and Van Persie by trying to save a few quid - Let's hope he's finally learned his lesson.
Sorry but your memory is wrong. Summer 2012 (The summer we missed out on van Persie, Hazard and De Rossi) Brian Marwood was our temporary acting CEO after Garry Cook's shameful email. Txiki had not officially arrived // not meaningfully arrived.

Mangala and Bony are definitely mistakes from Txiki (however it has been well publicised that Txiki wanted Dybala and Pellegrini wanted Bony). You could probably add the likes of Nolito, Bravo and Mendy too.

No DoF in world football has a 100% success rate. Only a handful at most will have better records than Txiki.

Defo hes a good player. Still raw, but would do well under Pep's guidance. Would suit our style better compared to lets say Liverpools. Liverpool players run at high pace/energy. Their front 3, just run like crazy. This guy aint that sort. He will close defence down, but is more big built so obviously slow. And would suit a team/style of patient build up like our style of football under Pep.

I do genuinely feel like this guy is a generational opportunity like Hazard and Mbappe were. It’s not a regular occurrence that someone of such obvious quality becomes available. Whether we’ll sign him when nobhead clubs like United will be offering him £350k a week is another matter.

He isn't slow. Haaland is ridiculously fast for his size but I do agree. Think he would suit our style of player better than Liverpools. He'll get a shed load of goals inside the box.
