At the end of the day there would be multiple clubs looking at him, the decision rests solely on his hand. If we talk to his agents and him and he is willing to move here, we would try to land him end of. I am not his biggest fan personally and don’t see how he plays for us with pep here70M release clause in 2022 according to some insiders. Wouldn‘t surprise me.
Haaland won't join us and it won't be because we got out bid, that much I can tell you. In my opinion we aren't going to bid because he doesn't want to join. Txiki will speak to Raiola through some method and they will know where we stand anyway, if not already.Would be a great acquisition, sadly I can see him going to either the vermin or the fan k!llers, not sure City will go for him based on who his agent is, or even be the only team trying to sign him, which would need to be the case for him to end up here, as if others were interested then Dortmund could say "bidding starts at £80m" and rule City out of the auction with those 5 words....as we won't go above £70m, we have FFP to stick to, no other side seems to have that issue.
5th richest club in world football turnover and outbid by sides like Juventus, Ath Madrid, Liverpool, Spurs for players we wanted in the past, despite them being miles behind us, not making as much money turnover wise, not as widely sponsored, nor have the income from TV revenue that City has, or gate reciepts, due to our stadium being bigger than theirs and tickets costing what they do.
If Ole survives this season then the rags must be favourites to sign him.
You don't think we need a striker? The latest toy in the candy shop.
Can you define "realistic" here?
All top clubs want Haaland and I struggle to see how we are in any kind of favoured position to land him even if we offer more than the 60m release clause (we hear about).
Reality now is none of the recent young mega-stars really pick us or even England, in general.
They all want the big warmer, sunnier glamorous Spainish clubs, and Real Madrid and Barca do have holes currently or are aging in their front line.
IMO next summer:
Haaland to Barca
Mbappe to Real Madrid
We are in the next tier and is also why we have wanted to go for potential.
Otherwise we'd be paying insane fees and wages and that can be tricky to manage.
If you want to offer the highest wages to him, say 500k week (would not surprise me that that's low) see how that affects players like KDB, who still hasn't signed a new deal I believe despite hearing he is "close to it."
Messi is still a target as well and is a player who players might accept higher wages for.
Haaland might be able to get the respect there, but I do wonder.
I hope we have as good of a chance, but I would not rate us in the top 2.

We will definitely need to replace Aguero. You don't think we need a striker?
