they are trying to get him to extend with a higher release for next season instead.
They are going to sit down to talk about the future. Sure, they may offer that. But when they hear a “no”, they COULD (all I am doing is speculate) come to the conclusion that negotiating in January for a bit more cash is good business... and the agent may also think that given the Fifa situation. And in that case, we have a new scenario. Is that really so implausible?

My original post was that I don’t like the term being used, and I believe I have the right to do so on this forum. If other posters choose to then start a debate with me on this topic, I shall naturally reply. As I am now doing with you on this ‘stupid thing’ that is so stupid you felt compelled to write. If you had read my other posts in reply to other posters, you would know why I don’t like it being used. And if you wish to bring in the ‘N’ word, then yes, I feel that calling the French league a ‘farmer’s league’ is borderline racism. We are City, and we are above that
Holy wow.. my god man

If Real Madrid get Mbappe for free, a scenario that seems most likely, I have a feeling they going for Haaland as well. They have the money to offer Dortmund, the agent and Haaland himself what they want. At Real Madrid it's all about Galacticos

For the one millionth time, they will not be signing Haaland (this summer at least)

I don't think haaland will move in January, however a couple of things may just set it off
Agents are having their commission capped as of next season to 10%,now if the buy out us 65/70m then the Agents will get 7m ,if riola wants more he will have to get Dortmund to sell in January, Dortmund get more money agents get more money, we get haaland who then gets 6 months to settle in before next season, surely a win win all round

It’s a derogatory term used to denigrate French football. A typical English attitude of ‘our league is the best, we have the best football’, an attitude taken from our own media’s obsession with the Premier League’s own trumpet-blowing.
I thought we City fans were better than that, and belittling other countries’ football leagues (especially when we’ve been embarrassed by their teams) is sheer arrogance.
Farmers don’t play football anyway so there is no such thing. They play Rugby Union.

If Dortmund sell Haaland they risk missing out on CL next season, which is likely worth more than any club can offer.

They are indeed a real possibility for him, and from the noises coming out of his camp, one he would be keen on, amongst others maybe.

It also makes more sense for them to sign him this summer, rather than next. They will be there having a a go, deapite the speculation from the media that have links with them, or they wouldn't be Real Madird

“It means moo” - french Scousers ;)

None of the three are things I claim.

None of the 3 can be claimed with such certainty, it is disingenuous to argue sweeping statements, while making sweeping statements.
I am not stupid. I can perfectly read the “smart” sarcasm you were attempting there

If the media in a certain country starts pushing that City are interested in X player and we’re definitely not, we let our closest reporters know and they report on it. It happened with Nuno Mendes for instance. In Madrid, they do it even more forcefully as their mouthpieces are true loyalists. Madrid for months has made it clear they don’t want to even be talked about in relation with Haaland, probably because they already have the “winning” summer window formula in Mbappe and don’t want to risk that narrative by turning it into “got Mbappe and lost Haaland”, but rather “got Mbappe”. They have the player to play with Mbappe and it’s the same player who will be playing with him in the national team most likely to win in Qatar. In the Spanish media, the club they insist on linking Haaland to is Barcelona. Supposedly they have the money to do it. They probably don’t but they want this message out and even if they don’t get him, it’s probably worth it for the “we’re back, baby” narrative and could even help get secondary targets. If those who daily insist on Madrid because “the galacticos”, “they’re Madrid, they can do it” or other cliches, turned that to Barcelona, I wouldn’t even be as bothered because at least in Spain they talk about this possibility. It’s closer to scientific than the mysticism with the Madrid speculation.
What I have said here, however, is that if Haaland’s only interest is Madrid, then he would stay another season in Dortmund and leave in the following one. That would make some logical sense at least, even if I don’t believe it myself.
