Erling Haaland

Mbappe and Haaland are the best strikers around at the moment and their age is a crucial factor, your not paying just for talent but proven goal-scorers. If you divide the overall fee against goals per season you kind of realise that lesser strikers are not always value for money. More often than not, cheap ain't good and good ain't cheap. Just do it!! :)

It might seem like that. But just because we aren't willing to spend 80m on Harry Maguire. Doesn't mean that we wouldn't spend 100m+ on a player of Mbappes/Haalands quality.

I do think we are willing to go to 100m+ to replace Aguero.
We were prepared to offer than amount for Joao Felix 2 years ago so I would hope City wouldn't think twice about offering it for Haaland.

I hope no one in our club thinks we're getting him for 65m. If that's the type of budget, don't bother and look elsewhere.

I am just saying, it'll take double than that, so having to go over 65m should be pretty obvious.
Nobody will be paying double that this summer. I can’t see any club paying much over £100 mill for a player that will be £65 mill next summer. Not sure there would be many that could afford it, I’d go as far as to say we are the only club that really only need to spend on one position and could afford around 100 mill on one player.

Don’t be naive

It is potentially the only chance anyone will get to sign him. Clubs will go to any free they can afford. Wherever he goes next I think he stays for the best part of a decade.

Okay, assuming every team with covid has made huge losses, don’t assume we know they have, assume as at the moment FFP only allows merging of last tears and this years accounts . Which teams can afford to drop more than 100 mill on one player.?
Barcelona obviously not, and the players they need to bring in are defenders and attackers. Madrid similar and both need to offload players first.
United, again centre backs are their priority. Liverpool have been scratching round for money the last 2 windows. PSG keeping Mbappe and Neymar are their priority.
So who in your opinion is going over 100 mill this summer for Haaland. We may offer 100 but it will include waiving the Sancho money. You do realise we are looking at a loss of probably about £50 mill this season ? And we still don’t know how much we lost last season.

Think that’s the point go to any fee they can afford. Covid has completely changed what is affordable this summer.

Most clubs can't afford him though. There's us, United, PSG, Chelsea and maybe Madrid. Out the 3 English clubs, we're the most attractive prospect. PSG & Madrid either have Mbappe, or want him.

If we make a suitable bid in Summer, we should be frontrunners. Throw the kitchen sink at him.

You underestimate how desperate the rags are lol. Also, madrid has a fuckton of deadwood to offload, even to dortmund specifically (jovic, mariano)

Possibly, though Haaland also goes where Haaland wants to go. I don’t know his preferences. If though he was desperate for any particular club he has the option of waiting a year if that club can’t afford him this year and ask him to wait a year for his clause to kick in. Thats just speculating though. I really haven’t seen anywhere that he has any single club that he wants to play for.

I dont think the fee is going to be that high for Haaland in terms of a transfer fee. It certainly wont be over 90/100m.

Could very easily be 70m cash, Sancho cut waived and Braaf or something. Dortmund will take that over 80m from Real.

The competition will be in what clubs offer for wages and what Raiola gets. We have history of walking away over these terms before but perhaps we will make an exception here.

The best thing we can do to get him is keep playing at this level until the end of the season. He keeps liking Foden’s posts on Instagram, especially after big games, so I think he’s watching. Doing well in the Champions League, which is his biggest goal in terms of winning, too.

If we're willing to work with Raiola, we could easily pay the agent's fee & sign-on bonus in 12 months. They know we're financially secure and they're not businesses with large overheads, they'll get it in a year. That means we just have an 80ish mil initial fee.
