This is worth a read.

I fully agree with the assessment. Those behind the football transfer rumour industry are ignoring the reality. Clubs are all in some state of financial problem. Even our own model is functioning outside of normality. There will be change as a result. Something has to cover the hole created by no fans in stadiums for a full year. Clubs that have access to funding from their owners stand to be well placed. Clubs that don't have to find that money somewhere else. Clubs who were in a bit of a financial bind going into this are going to be in desperation mode.

Transfer activity and wage costs are the leavers they can pull. The budgets will be for millions of new commitment annually. That can and will get paired back.

Big question on FFP - can't see how they can enforce the repeat/aggregate losses rule when all clubs are set to report a big loss. If they make no effort to give comfort to clubs likely to breach (and it could be half or more of the CL clubs) then summer spending will be further curtailed even by clubs like us and chelsea who have owners who can spend.
Your point about FFP is a good one. It has always been ludicrous and a sign of enormous arrogance that an entire industry can curtail external funding. I don't think they are going to have any choice but to basically scrap it, at least for a while. Football is going to need the likes of sheikh Mansour because his cash trickles down right through the whole indistry - a point they never grasped or cared enough about.

They thought the gravy train was never ending.

I've seen a few videos , all the videos show his great scoring record, and you cant fault him, I've watched him in the video v schalke(worst in Germany) and thought it was only fair to watch him v the best team in Germany, his movement looks great he gets behind Bayern a few times , his touch needs a lot of work, someone on here described him as clunky, and i will agree on that description

i trust city to get the right man in, and if city think haaland is the man then great, but knowing pep it will be someone completely off the radar

I wasn’t commenting on whatever opinion you had about Haaland or Podence, but on your opinion about the role you see for Torres, and it’s not my first time commenting on it. Oh and yeah, going for the starting CB of the Portuguese national team really is “thinking outside the box” huh... hehe

and nice job there on the language
fair enough you have your opinion, but cut the shit out about don't bother commenting to everyone else, you came across as a know it all, and peace frog knows fuck all so don't bother listening to him, I've formed my opinions over 50 years of watching live football, i know the sort of player i like, i see things in players that maybe others dont and vice versa, they can make their own minds up if they want to comment, your aren't the oracle on all things football, as for the language, your arrogance actually deserved that response.

oh by the way, im enjoying the books you recommended me, a great insight.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that FFP rules are being relaxed for the next few years to allow the money to come back into football

Out of interest, what did you think about his first touch in the Schalke match. Quality of opposition won't affect first touch I'd have thought.

That just changed the monitoring period from 2 years to 3. There's no doubt they'll have to do something major, as pretty much everyone will end up failing at some point in the near future.
So until they do I dont see anyone going balls deep on a transfer as every big club will be running outside of FFP rules for 2021.

i seem to be coming across as knocking haaland I'm really not, just my impression of what i think pep wants in a player ,i just dont think a big powerful player is what pep is thinking, a tevez type player imo is what pep will go for, if he goes for haaland then brilliant I'm completely wrong , whoever it is i trust pep to get it right.

Yeah, you might have a good point there. They must be discussing things behind closed doors so hopefully everyone's got some sort of idea on how to proceed.
I guess there are various ways they can change them to try and noble the better placed clubs. Even just delaying a decision would do that as it stops the better placed clubs making moves.

for me on watching videos of haaland in games is he is still a raw talent and can much better with the right manager
one thing i don't like is the way he turns off after a bad pass or if he does not get the ball just like jesus does or did

pep hate's that and jesus has worked on getting it back quick and willing to run and get the ball back and not turn off and wave his arms about ? haaland jesus sterling would be a ideal 3. pep would love more goals this season and with a solid back line add haaland and goals city would be joy to watch
