Erling Haaland

I honestly didn't think that City would be in for Haaland but, in Pep's preview of the Everton game he was asked if he could see Haaland as his striker and I think it gave a clue..
Pep, being an ethical guy, said he didn't like other [managers] talking about his players and that Haaland played for Dortmund.
But there was something about how he said it that made me think that he was saying that he couldn't say he wanted him, rather than that he didn't want him.
If he'd simply said that Haaland plays for Dortmund and closed the question down at that then I'd have thought that he truly wasn't interested, but he went out of his way to praise Harlaad before saying bthat he couldn't comment regards the initial question.

I'm suddenly thinking that the wonderfully gifted Haaland (and his twat of an agent) may be heading our way.

I think Pep will really show his ruthless streak this summer by offloading Sergio and possibly Raheem to buy Haaland. We will also probably buy another attacking midfielder (perhaps Grealish) to support the attack. Imagine Haaland with Foden, KDB, Gundo, Grealish, Mahrez, supplying the bullets for him. Haaland knows that Pep (and only Pep) can take him to the next level. The great thing about City these days is that we never stand still.

This lad is the missing piece for half a decade of dominance. Let's get it done, and be as ruthless as we need in order to do it.

Several trustworthy people on here have already said he is our #1 target. I'm not sure we need to dissect Pep's behavior during a presser.

You’re mistaking me for someone else. I‘m not wet behind the ears.
Not that it’s anything to do with you but I’ve read the posts on this topic and previously dismissed them owing to Raiola being in the mix.

If you’re confused about this then you should reread my post as it very clearly wasn’t about ‘we‘. It was a personal missive about ‘me‘ having a dawning realisation and nothing whatsoever to do with how you and your collective think.

You can quite obviously take whatever view that you personally (or you and your collective ‘we’) like to, but please don’t attempt to include me in your group thinking by telling me what ‘we’ should think because when I write from a personal perspective about how I feel about something then I’m not writing as part of your collective and I can dissect whatever I like to come to my own opinions without some dink telling me what ‘we’ should or shouldn’t do.

With the HG Factor, I see Raz staying. Hopefully his form improves.

Can see someone like mahrez leaving along side Aguero.

Mahrez has been in great form and hopefully ends the season on his best form for us. Always, felt he never felt at home - think now that Qatar and Abu Dhabi relations have been restored - can see him going to PSG

Madrid heavily leaking their interest into the press

Raiola’s MO is to have everyone supposedly interested. When Poggy went to the rags Madrid were supposed to be bidding too. Except they weren’t by all accounts. Just Mino games.

Haaland won’t go to Spain IMO. It’s between us and Chelsea for him.

Surely we'd be favourites then? Taking the no.10 as Kun's successor for a club he had affinity as a child must be more appealing than competing with Werner and Tammy?

IMO we are clear favorites right now. Pep + the club he grew up having an affinity got + best team in England currently. It’s a no brainer.

They aren't only leaking their interest, they have journalists saying "Haaland wants to join Madrid", "Haaland wants to play for Zidane" and more.
They say that with every player, those journalists aren't mentally capable of entertaining the thought that someone might have a preference other than Madrid. Just like the rag and dipper sycophants here.

That IS true. But Real Madrid are always, Always a draw for top forwards, specially young ones.

While i do think it is a bit agent games and hopeful punts by their media, particularly as Mbappe is more their end gsme supposedly, i just wouldn't dismiss it off hand.

Neither would I rule out a persistent Chelsea if they throw everything at it, and continue this resurgent form to finish in the top4 and go far in the CL.

We have clear advantages and draws, and dare i say it, this is probably the first time (since hazard probably) that when it comes to a real top player everyone is after, that i feel the stars are just a bit aligned for us to sign him. If ever that feeling could be explained, this is it for me.

Lets hope that does translate into a real advantage.
