Erling Haaland

No but we’d have missed a golden opportunity to get a player on board for potentially the next ten years who could turn out to be more prolific than Aguero. How much would that be worth?
no the diamond opportunity is next season when his clause get triggered .

I guess we will find out after another million twists and turns in this transfer saga.

I actually have complete faith in the club to do the right thing for City, whatever that is.

I don't think Haaland will be a player to stay at a club more than 3 years. Think he'll do the tour to be honest. Germany, England, Spain and Italy.

both books have arrived :).

ive started reading confidential , touching on the reason we spoke regarding the books was my idea of a pep forward(if i remember correctly) now im only up to approx the 4/5th chapter, Bayern haven't yet played Dortmund in the supercup or whatever they call it, but peps thoughts of who can play that forward position is ribery, a player who can play right across the front, this only cements my idea of our next forward being ferran torres, a player who can play right across the front , this is only my gut feeling having watched torres, i said at the start of the season during torres first few games for us he has something about him,

as i say ive only just started reading confidential and my take on it could turn out completely wrong, however what i can take from the book so far is, pep is a way better coach than i even thought
i said this early in the season, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we didn't buy a traditional CF.

The words Pep used are quite interesting:

"I don't know what is going to happen but at these prices we are not going to buy any striker," he said.

"It's impossible. We cannot afford it. All the clubs are struggling financially, us as well.

"Today there is more chance we will not buy a striker next season."

To me, this is directly linked to the nonsense yesterday. It implies not only that we’re not interested at the figures being splashed around, but confirms the player we are interested in is Haaland.

...or am I over-analysing it?

No, I think you're spot on. Pep sending a message to Haaland camp, that we're not desperate to overspend for you.

This

Hardly gonna come out and openly admit to getting another striker in as no1, thus potentially upsetting Gab at a critical point of the season

Don't understand why every single syllable out of his mouth is being over analysed. It's classic Pep deflection. In this current economic climate he's not about to come out saying yeah we're going to blow £150 million this summer on a striker, it makes us look out of touch and desperate. He'll talk about the constraints we're under as he always does and he'll big up his current players. We can pretty much ignore anything Pep says to the media with regards to transfers, he stays well out of it. Only thing to take from his entire conference was him saying delap will be with us next year

I think you’re correct.

I have heard from a pretty good source that we will not be signing Haaland. In fact the source said there are no plans at all to sign a new forward.

So I wouldn't get your hopes up, i rarely ever post what my source says, but he has never once been wrong.

Don't ask who it is either, i will not say, i trust the man and he is a good fella whose company I enjoy,

15 Feb 2021....oh

Pay the doe. We’re one of the most elite clubs in the world do whatever it takes. We need to make a statement signing like him we haven’t done one since tevez. Would boil pure piss if we really flex our financial muscles especially now that FFP has done one. Perfect player at the perfect time, I’d do a double swoop for gio Reyna while we’re at it they work well together at Dortmund and both city fans, dunno how he’s not getting talked about more but grealish is. We’re Manchester fuckin city time everyone knows that!

I would have been astonished if Pep had said "Of course we're buying a striker and the only one I want is Haaland. So if it costs £150 million to bring him to City we'll cough it up. If it takes £200 million we'll manage. Whatever it costs rather than see him go to debtors' jail in Spain or Salford or west London. We've got to get him." So, presumably because he's reported as confident that City will land Haaland he's pointed out that we won't pay what we consider to be an unreasonable price even if it means not buying him. This is presumably the backdrop to the meeting between our officials, his dad and his agent - "Let's be reasonable, fellers. We've got money: have those other clubs?!"

Get a grip folks

Not sure if its gonna be this lad......but of course we are signing a striker.
100%, although we’ve shown that we will be patient, historically

It’s all chess, mino just sacrificed a few pawns is all and City respond with the Sicilian defence.....

This, which has always been the case, sits firmly in the lap of Daddy, who isn’t going to not listen to the best offer for his son, the strength however is our obvious strength, despite the economical impact to the wider football community!

We aren’t buying a striker this summer pep has said that
Let’s hope delap gets game time
He should get goals
