We've come a long way from Moss Side, eh, Blues?
CITY HERE, CITY THERE, CITY EVERY FUCKING WHERE,
LA LA LALA LA LALA LA LA......

If we get Haaland, him and Foden and make the next generation of worldwide fans Blues, not red.

We were the only club on earth who wanted Jack and we'll be competing with at the very least three others for Haaland, all of whom will likely offer him and his representatives much better terms.
How many times can I say that we offered Messi the previous summer more than PSG is paying him now AND in the total package? We pay absolutely top wages. Kane would’ve come in earning AT LEAST the same as KdB. The fact Kante was Chelsea’s best paid player only served as a basis of negotiation for Lukaku. Same with De Gea at United. When you pay a midfielder your top wages, the worldclass striker that comes in will use that in the negotiation. This is how the market operates. We are not outside this market, we are very much in. Same at Mbappe arriving at Madrid with Hazard being their best paid player (making the same as KdB). He easily will become their number one earner and his wages will be ser by the number two. Anyone who thinks wages will be an issue for us is naive and romantic (I almost feel bad bringing you down to reality)

Ring ring, ring ring

Dortmund 'Guten Tag'

City 'How much for Haaland and Bellingham?'

Dortmund 'all you have got'

City 'take it all'

If it’s us, Real, PSG in the running, as a purely footballing project it’s hard to see a better option than us, even if I take off my blue tinted specs. Money is going to be a factor tho, and whilst there’s no doubt we can and do pay top dollar, there’ll be a ceiling to what we’re prepared to offer and it’s conceivable that someone else could go higher and turn his head. Fingers crossed we offer the best all round package.

that wasn't really the point though was it. The original post said we had never paid top price for a player, when clearly paying £100m is top dollar in anybodys book

That's not true. He only wanted us, but other clubs wanted him. We were the only club prepared to pay the huge fee it would take to sign him. Because, just like with Rodri, Dias, Laporte, KDB, Mendy, Stones, Walker, Ederson, Mahrez, etc etc, we pay big money tit takes to sign the players we want that want to come here.

1,802 pages and counting, all that without a sniff of solid or reliable news where his actual signature is concerned.

We’ve not come all that far :)

Transfer thread in a nutshell.

Reliable (or rather not) being the key word in that.

It is interesting however, what the speculation is where.

Most of what has been shared here seems to be from Spain. One minute it is Madrid have a deal, the next it is, Madrid think he will end up in PL. Back to Madrid want him, and occasionally squeeze in Barcelona as a mention too to keep them relevant.

Anything coming out from Germany is generally 'look how much he will cost, with wages X and agent fees Y, phoarrr ya.

Fuck all from Italy, snippet here and there from France that he may be seen as an ideal mbappe replacement.

Occasional nod from Norway, mostly suggesting he wants the PL, not ruling out Madrid as an option.

Then you have our clowns here who repackage all of the above and conclude he will either go to Utd, maybe Chelsea too, or us if Pep snaps his fingers but look how much he will cost us.

And then we of course argue if we would/should pay said imaginary figures.
