Can Madrid do Mbappe, Haaland and Pogba in one summer. Thats 2 million a week in wages right there, ignoring the fee for haaland. I know some bigger earners have left them in recent years, but don't buy they will do all three. Mino might want it, but Madrid will surely prioritize mbappe over haaland and they desperately need a CM so don't think they can just walk from Pogba either.

I know they are not Barca but they have financial issues. This seems fantastical.

They absolutely can just get rid of Marcelo, Bale and Hazard next summer to make room for those three player wages combined.

This is Real Madrid we're talking about, these absurd Galactico signing is not the first time they are doing it. This is the same club that signing both CR37 and Kaka in the same windows back then, so signing both Mbappe and Haaland will be no different. They have money probaly more than anybody including ours and seems economic impact from Covid is not effecting them badly compared to Barca.

They are still the number one enemy and obstacle to get Haaland signature next summer, so i will never count them out from race.

They are losing Marcelo, Isco, Modric, Bale off the wages bill..

Mbappe and Pogba filling that on a free move seems logical over having to pay a transfer as well. Big summer coming up.
So that’s probably around £1.2m a week off their wages, so guess they could afford both Mbappe & Haaland

Bale and Marcelo for sure that's true forgot their deals both expired in the summer. They won't get rid of Hazard though, that's Bale the sequel and he's got 2 years left. After his last couple of years and given his age, nobody is paying anything close to what they want. nor getting anywhere near his wages. But maybe Bale and Marcelo's wages would be enough.

The thing is Madrid are going to struggle to register Mbappe and Haaland. La ligas new ffp rules fucked Barca over it will fuck madrid over as well unless they get rid of high wages.

Two words - Gareth Bale

£31.2m a year.

Same reason they let Varane and Ramos leave, to get their wage bill down.

Irrespective of what some media have speculated over how serious the bidding for Mbappe was in the summer, they were publicly bidding £160m for a player out of contract in 12 months time.

Serious or not, it's hardly strengthening their negotiating position for the future purchase of any player by claiming they have big money burning a hole in their pocket.

Bale to Newcastle on stupid money to stay fit for the World Cup before retiring to become a professional golfer?

They are in desperate need of a CM and a CB too. If you assume Mbappe and Pogba are nailed on, that's already colossal wages that will probably match all those departures or get close to it. I doubt that they will prioritize a second striker over a proper CB purchase, particularly if they cant sell Hazard which I think they probably won't be able to outside of a deal where they get hosed. Mino might want it, but that wage increase is astronomical, even with departures.

Since Perez pulled the plug on Bale going to China because the Jiangsu Suning wouldn't pay a fee on top of taking his wages off their books, he has played 23 times for Real Madrid, scored 4 goals and been paid approx £78,000,000 in wages.

I think PSG might buy Richarlison to replace Mbappe, he's very highly rated by his Brazil teammates, inc Neymar who he has a good partnership in the national side. Plus he's the kind of hard working forward they'll need to offset the other 2 and would get 20+ a season for PSG.

Linked heavily last year.

I think Paris will buy Sterling if Barca don't come up with the pennies.

It will always be about the optics for a club like Madrid.

With the stadium renovation also, they are desperate to remind their fans and the world that they are still relevant, especially after the Super League fiasco.

Best way to insure themselves is to go big or fade into the shadows for a few years.

Haha - no wonder he could afford to build that nine-hole golf course in his garden in Madrid.

And Madrid have avoiding paying even money on top of those figures, as Spurs were paying £250k a week last season towards his £650k a week.

I cannot see Haaland ending up here. I would love i but cannot see Txiki getting on his knees front of Raiola and do the needful.

fucking hell, all he does is train and play for wales

That's the worry. To be fair, they are well within their rights, as are Dortmund to at least insist they aren't open to offers in Jan.

I suspect the truth is that when Haaland pushes the button, everything else will fall into place.

Am I being dim here (probably) in thinking that Dortmund have no choice if the clause kicks in during January and not next Summer?

Doesn’t seem to be any evidence it does kick in, in January just that one report last summer which seemed a bit of a guess. Think we would know for sure by now if it did.
