Erling Haaland

At least he has put to bed the notion we or anyone else has an agreement in place.

It's not even near, but more will hopefully become clearer next month.

Mino is doing his job, don't see why people are having a pop? Alfie and Erling trust him to deliver, as he has done for pretty much all of his clients down the years.

People wanting to blame Mino are the same people who wanted to blame Toure's agent, when he was in actual fact saying what he wanted him to.

We are in a decent position but we won't wait.
Also didnt Toure' in the end come out and pretty much tell his agent to stop talking rubbish at one point?

We fear he favours Real Madrid and have for a while. Not to preclude a deal, but City recognise Haaland is a special talent and have made allowances for the fact he is wanted by all the top teams.

If Haaland gives his word in January, we will stick with what we have until the summer, otherwise there is an increasing mood behind the scenes that we should walk and move immediately to our next target.

If nothing else, but to reinforce our position in this season, using the Torres sale as a further justification.
Players and agents "word" means NOTHING and we shouldnt be so nieve.

If he favours Madrid then we need to improve our offer as it will be all about the money for both Mino and Haaland himself...or lose out on a generational talent...

They could but they also need players in other positions, they need to rebuild and they still have to be careful with their spend.
they are backed by the spannish govt in reality...they have the finances and no one in UEFA, FIFA will challenge them..they are the singular most powerful (political) team in the world

They would sign Haaland and Mbappe just to prove a point.

They have a good keeper, decent defenders, decent midfielders and enough fire power up front to challenge in Europe and they look pretty sure of dominating domestically.

They signed Alaba and Camavinga last summer and they have talents like Rodrygo and Vinicius coming into their own this season. As well as the likes of Valverde who is very talented,
Kroos and Casimero are still more than good enough.

They can sell Jovic and Mariano plus a few others as well as releasing the huge wages of Bale to fund other moves if required but would any club turn down signing Haaland and Mbappe for a combined "transfer fee" of about 70m. I don't think so.

It would be the perfect storm for Perez, Barca and Atletico waning so he can now put the pressure on again.

Exactly, which is why I dont think Haaland is going to happen. Can we trust that Haaland won't change his mind in the summer and in the mean time Vlahovic has gone elsewhere?

Its not all about money. Mbappe said so himself this week, hes turned down a fortune to go to Real. Sadly it still has this mystical power that draws players in.

Part of me wants him to join City, but another part of me wants Pep and his scouts to unearth another talent nobody else has spotted under the radar, so he can coach him as an unfinished product. This will save a fortune and encourage Pep to stay longer.

Better not tell Gus!
It’s not the first time @tolmie's hairdoo says that about Madrid. I cannot pretend all the information I have isn’t there so I am sticking my neck out from the pack and insisting he will not be going to Madrid this window. I have said a few times already: IF it’s true that he only wants Madrid AND they want him, he will stay another season at Dortmund to give them a chance of dealing with Benzema and sort their finances out. It’s not happening in the summer. If I’m wrong, I will apologize, but I don’t see why it bothers people that I am willing to make a bold claim. Mind you, Tolm has not said anything about Madrid’s stance or even the Haaland camp’s; it’s supposedly about how it could be perceived inside our club. On the same page, one could argue Vlahovic has eyes on Juventus

I did not say they are skint but they have to be careful.

The same applies to Barca, people on here seem to think Barca will be declared bankrupt at any moment, clubs like that will always find cash.

when did they unearth the first talent?

Bluemoon will self combust if we get his word in January, pull away from Vlahovic(he goes somewhere else)to wait for Haaland in Summer then he rocks up at Madrid with Mino chuckling on Sky.

What will encourage Pep to stay longer is giving him worldclass talent to work with. With strikers there is no scouting to find hidden talents for a side like ours. It’s who’s scoring shitloads in top leagues and their style. That’s seconds on Google and any average football observer will have watched these players. The pool is as small as it gets

Haaland staying at Dortmund is detrimental to everyone, they are going backwards and he only has to look at his dad to see what can happen in a split second of a game to know that you need to take an opportunity when it arrives.

They have the chance to get Mbappe and Haaland for about 70m in transfer fees, its irrelevant what other problems you have or how well Benzema is playing and you would be stupid to not act on it.

If I was in charge of City I would want to know Haalands thoughts now the season ends in 5 months and I don’t think it’s unreasonable
Multi million pound deals don’t happen overnight and I would want some assurance of his intentions
If he doesn’t fancy it tell us and we all move on
If there is an option to come well then let’s get talking
Time to put up or shut up in my opinion

Raiola has more than once insisted he could be staying at Dortmund for another season. They will be sitting down in coming weeks, per their CEO, and an improved offer for renewal with a new clause could come. I don’t rule it out anymore (I used to)

The plan in Madrid is to have Benzema and Mbappe starting for their team in the season of the World Cup cycle. That has been the case for a year. Maybe Benzema wants to leave the summer after, in which case they will sign someone then, and Raiola would be happy to wait some more. But this summer it isn’t happening. I’m giving everyone here a chance to give me shit forever if I’m wrong, which many would love and should embrace ;)

This is all perfect on paper but the reality is that last summer we were supposedly willing and prepared to let Levy play games until the final hours of the transfer window

More reason not do it again. This time we have alternatives last summer we didn't We were happy to stick with what we had.

If he ends up staying at Dortmund then best of luck to him, we can't afford to wait and he clearly wanted something else all along.

Plans change and if Haaland says hes ready to go you think Perez will say no because we have Benzema, no fucking chance. If he does then the Real ultras better hound Perez out of his seat because hes lost his marbles.

I highly doubt we're gonna get an agreement even in words in january, but we should absolutely scare mino back when he comes to manchester. Eventually, he himself knows that with all the bullshit, he has 3 options - city, madrid, or stay at dortmund for another year.

dortmund are absolutely dire and I don't think it's likely he stays there, but maybe they think they'll be able to give someone like barca or bayern another year to sort out their finances and get a deal? i think another year at dortmund will severely damage his development at this point.

which leaves us and madrid. that's not as big a hand to play as mino thinks it is. if we pull out and madrid can't get both him and mbappe, he's simply left to play another year at the farmers' league which I don't think is what mino wants, he wants to make sure that if he stays in dortmund it's due to haaland's desire.

so i'm fine with putting a line in the sand - something that we should have really done this summer with kane..

Surely the 10% cap changes everything & now January becomes realistic for Haaland to move in the next few weeks

Add that Dortmund are out of Champs League & they would get more money from the deal & Raiola?

Dortmund also get there man from Salzburgh

Haaland would move to Madrid no question & it gives them more of a chance against PSG & Winning the bloody thing

For some reason I just have the feeling & always have not sure why but Haaland doesn't fancy England & City
I also don't see City paying that kind of Agent fees again not sure why buy its just a feeling

I wouldnt be suprised us switching to Vlahovic or even Aubamyang

You were wrong last summer, nobody has given you shit for that. It isn't a point scoring thread, and the outcome is somewhat irrelevant to the discussions.

If he ends up not going to madrid, it doesn't make you right. If he doesn't end up coming here (january in particular, but summer too), it doesn't make you wrong.

The matter of the fact still remains, Madrid are a likely destination, and a club fully capable of signing him.

We are too, to an extent, and it isn't impossible he moves in January either, however unlikely. Nobody needs to wait and see what happens to know those are true, and no matter what happens, they will have been true all the same.
