We phone up, he says we can have it but then the phone cuts off, we ring up again, they say we can have it, put us on hold for 20mins and the guy says the offer no longer exists even though it clearly does, currently on hold, he's putting us through to a supervisor.

Sorry lads, but you have been poorly advised.
If you go on "interactive" and read the terms and conditions of the 3 months free offer, you will see the following.

The 3 months free is available only if you already subscribe to Sky Sports.
You are signing up for a 12 months contract.
The first three months are free, with the remaining 9 months at £9.(£81)
If you book through your box, you will receive a £5 credit to your account.
You CAN cancel this contract with 30 days notice, but the original fee of £12 a month will then apply. (even for the free period)
So if you cancel 30 days before the free period ends (ie after two months), then you will be charged for 3 months at £12 ie £36.

I rang Sky CS to book ESPN for a single month.
At first i was only offered the 3 month deal, but i explained that i only wanted ESPN for one month. (ie £9)
At first, the women couldn't understand why i didn't want the free offer, because as posted here she thought i could just cancel.
I made her read their own T&Cs(went off to confirm with a manager). She then confirmed i would have been charged £36 and apologised.
She then just ordered the normal £9 a month ESPN offer, and the immediately cancelled it for the 23rd of August.
I will also get a £10 credit for the bad advice!

I can only advise people to ring up and complain.
I would give them notice now that you want to cancel.
I believe 30 days notice is the minimum notice period, so maybe give your three month notice now, and then argue after that etc.
Oh dear!! Glad i didn't sign up

Sorry the intial package a posted a couple of minutes has changed in the last month

So it is £9 a month = £108

or 3 months free then 9 months of £12 per month (If you can still get that deal) = £108

So you aint getting it for free!!

yeah but can you still cancel with a months notice?
