Feel for the guy. He didn't look the same after his last injury, will probably never be the same again
Was one of the very best midfielders in the world before his injury. Last season he looked half the player to me, as shown in the Chelsea game where we didn't park the bus (still don't know why we did it away when we had Chelsea's number beforehand) where Nige/Yaya/Barry overran Essien/Mikel/Ramires. I fear this injury could be his demise as a top level player.
This could be the end of his career unfortunately. He's our version of Hargreaves. This is why we got a very similar player in Ramires recently, his knees seem completely shot. Gutted really, anyone could see he was an absolute class midfielder and its a shame when injures bring a player down early.
We'll have to see what the scans say, but I doubt its a minor thing when I heard "Essien" and "Knee" in the same sentence.

Very sad indeed.
Showed glimpses of his class early last season, and is one of those players I love to watch play well, regardless of club allegiance. Still, let's hope he can recover.

Devastated for the guy. As a football fan and putting chelsea aside, je was one of the most enjoyable footballers to watch when he was in his prime.

Real shame. A very likeable guy and he was an absoloute beast of a player before his initial knee injury. I hope he recovers.
