Ethiad Trophy

Various people on here have mentioned Celtic, something to do with the deal when we had a friendly at their place last year apparently. Sevilla and Villarreal are allegedly the backup options.

a hadful of lads at reddish the other week said to cook can you just tell us what we're doing pre-season and he suggested they were trying to play rangers away depending on police / poss champions league qualifier (which of course is not a problem now)... so date could be midweek, 4th august...

Oh great so we either get Rangers coming to trash our city again or Celtic singin IRA songs?

Bring on August 2009.

i will be pretty disappointed if they are the showcase friendly for us

This

I'm hoping for a really big European team

I think Barcelona would be fitting!

Naaaaaa beaten them already, we need decent competition ..... how about Nottingham Forrest, revenge time ?

I heard talks with Kaka broke down when we refused AC Milan a rematch for the Thomas Cook Trophy.

Ye thats true, AC Milan did not want to do business with a team that humiliated them and then refused to give them a re match.

Surely we can't have Celtic as the showpiece friendly. We may as well save all the jocks/irish the journey and invite Burnley along instead. At least they'd be a better standard.

lads bit of help, my name 4 times is a long story but to cut it short it's because we have won the thomas cook trophey 4 times, would you say i will have to start over again, to say 1 time seen as it is going to be linked with ethidad?????????

You do realise you'd have had the same problem if we kept Thomas Cook and won it again, don't you?!!!
