Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Glad to hear, I know most don’t like “tourists” but it’s good business. Is there a supporters section in the stadium to help lead the chanting?
I've got nothing against tourists at all, if someone wants to come and support the team and pay their money, good luck to them.

But the reality is, when Liverpool and United play at home, Manchester Airport is rammed full of tourists coming to watch them play.

That's not the case with City, our fan base is made up predominantly of local fans, and a bunch of those fans simple can't afford to go to every single home game anymore.

Stop blimey moaning you lot. This isnt just a City problem

Mate I didn’t mean to sound critical. What you all are saying makes sense.

"Real fans don't leave 10 minutes before the match ends" is a pretty critical thing to write if you didn't intend to be!

We'd all love to see a sell out every game and a rocking stadium but unless the games are priced right it will not happen.

The two things that haven't changed with City despite the success is that the stadium will sell out only if the price is fair (atmosphere will be better if it's priced so local fans can go rather than the tourists), and moving the away fans would help enable one singing section with one song at a time going around. Maybe an expanded North stand will enable a "wall" style singing section and families relocated...but we shall see.

Hamburg at home remains one of the best and pretty sure prices were like £20 an adult, £5 for kids. It was absolutely rocking even when Dunney got sent off and we very nearly got a goal to take it to extra time despite that.

exactly you could do this for every PL ground nobody has a good consistent Atmosphere.

Real fans don’t leave 10 minutes before the match ends.
You are not a fan at all, it is like being a fan of Coke or Pepsi for your type, you have no connection to the club whatsoever, have never been, and are the worst type of plastic.

I know you are probably a "fan" of The Manchester United now and just here to wind fans up, and it is pretty pathetic with tired clichés.

I have a connection for 11 years watching almost every game and spending money on official City merchandise. I am emotionally invested in this club. You’re not the fan police and have no right to tell anyone who is a real fan or isn’t. Finally all big clubs have global support, if you want it to be just a local club I hate to tell you but that ship has sailed when we got new ownership. Everyone has different pathis in life how we become fans of sports or teams and I won’t apologize for mine when Dzeko signed for City.

Real fans don’t leave 10 minutes before the match ends.
City fans have always left the ground with 5 or 10 mins to go. It was the same at Maine rd & the same again now .
Its the whacky races to beat the traffic jam & get home or go to your local.
Its not going to change so people need to accept it who are offended

Man I am quickly being reminded why I haven’t posted in this forum for a while.
10 big years and you've still learned nothing?

You're obviously still learning about the club and its fanbase, the most important thing you can learn about our fan base is this:

We're not the kind of fan base who gloats about our victories and feels entitled to success.

If anything it's the opposite. We're self-depricating and many of us still think things will go wrong, and we can take the piss out of ourselves.

Most of us grew up with the club being underdogs and having our nearest neighbours dominating and rubbing it in our faces.

But when they took the piss out of us, or anyone outside of the match going fan base takes the piss out of us, we come out fighting and stand our corner.

You're perfectly entitled to be a City fan and follow the team. You're even entitled to criticise the match going fan base if you really want to.

But what you're not entitled to do is criticise the match going fan base and expect them not to come out fighting and defend themselves. That's just taking your entitlement too far.

Go to the games for decades, put in the hard yards, suffer the lows, the defeats, the relegations, the humiliations, then you earn the right to criticise the fan base.

Following the club via the internet gives you the right to comment on the team, it does not give you the right to criticise the fan base. You've not earned your stripes.

My two lads left early last night for valid reasons that have fuck all to do with anybody else. Both have had season tickets for 20 years and have been through thick and thin but according to you they are not ‘real’ fans!

I’ll put it another way, shove you’re shitty comments up your arse.

Fair enough mate, enjoy your exclusive title as a true fan. I don’t think I will ever earn the stripes since I don’t live in England. I will be happy to support the club in my own way. And I will still be pissed when I see fans leaving before the match is over because I care :)

And up yours, comment wasn’t directed at your lads
