Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

From following the blues in div 2 to the likes of shrewsbury and oxford away the atmosphere is so poor these days.Me and my brother could not believe how quiet it was yesterday. Maybe the hunger we used to have as fans no longer remains for the majority of our supporters.people were leaving with 20 plus minutes remaining yesterday i said to my brother pay £30 £40 £50 for a ticket you surely have go to
Stay and support your team and at least get your moneys worth.Especially in these critical few weeks remaining the support from the terrace is key.

Atmosphere was OK last night, but so many left early I doubt if 50% were still in the ground at full time.
If that is primarily down to transport issues then the club needs to demand better from the transport providers and tell us who they've approached.
Doesn't help that almost all night matches kick off at 8 now instead of 7.45 like they used to. That extra 15 mins can make a big difference at that time of night especially to people who need to be up early or got kids in school.

Anyway thought the atmosphere sounded really good last night on the stream I watched, then saw on the matchday thread people who were at the ground were moaning about it being shit so thought I was hearing things!

Maybe it's true what they say about the matchday thread!

Fair enough mate, enjoy your exclusive title as a true fan. I don’t think I will ever earn the stripes since I don’t live in England. I will be happy to support the club in my own way. And I will still be pissed when I see fans leaving before the match is over because I care :)
The fans that go to the games care too.

But they have real lives to live, they have jobs, families, kids, there's a hundred reasons why people can't afford to spend an extra hour in hour in traffic at 10pm on a Wednesday night.

Don't worry about what time people leave the stadium, it's really none of your concern.

Don't use public transport and drive but noticed last night when I left to go to car the amount of fans left at bus stop being told no more buses, family's with kids etc

It was pathetic and not normally seen this during day games.

I always stay to the end but if some fans rely on the buses to get home no wonder they fuck off early.

The club need to be more active with getting to and from the ground as it seems we are being shafted by TFGM

You’re right but I wouldn’t be able to commiserate as a City fan if I didn’t moan about something

I left early with 5 mins to go because of no buses left at the Atletico game.
Got on the second bus straight away and glad I did.

Say what you like but other clubs have similar issues. Truth is, for whatever reason there is a fair percentage of City fans that are just not passionate and no number of trophies or brilliant performances will change that.
But not to the same extent. I've watched City all over the country and hardly ever seen a ground as empty as the Etihad often is at full time. And that includes when we've put four or more past the home side.
Although there was one game I remember...........
As for trophies not changing it: If we win our final six PL games most of those who partake in the usual fire drill, will find a reason to stay for 90+ minutes on the final day. Transport issues will be ignored if there's a trophy presentation to be watched.

I think we see more fans staying at other clubs because dare I say it, tourists, if that game had been Saturday the amount that stay behind fir photos etc is significant, now imagine the big Touristy clubs that’s why not so many leave early.

This is true. I think it’s generational as a lot of older supporters picked City as they liked to back the underdog thus leaving a confused generation who are used to shouting insults at sky blue shirts and are now quiet. Every now and again there is a defeat and they can remember what it’s all about then back to confused silence.

Nurse!

Thought the atmosphere was ok last night, we've had worse this season. Given there are only four games left now, though, let's hope we build to a crescendo.

"City don't worry about a thing..."

There was no buses after the Liverpool game either. Normally there is a line of buses waiting to take fans back to Piccadilly but when I came out there was none. So without buses it's a good 25-30 minutes walk if you don't want to queue for a tram. As we have an ageing fan base not everyone can do or relish a long walk. I quite enjoy it although I'm bloody feeling it by the end. I wouldn't enjoy it at 10pm though with the added stress of getting into Piccadilly to catch ongoing transport home before it ceases.
