Etihad atmosphere

Amongst the euphoria of Pep football, I have tried to gloss over the worst moment of Sunday for me, which was when Tony Book got his presentation on the pitch.

Sure he got a good reception & I'm sure he's happy, but whilst I was stood applauding him, i looked round the stand and noticed how many weren't bothering at all. Fucking hordes of 'em. And not young girls with mobile phones or beardies, old grey haired blokes who are the kind who would come on here & tell people how much 'City' they are.

We no, you're not actualy you fucking phoney old cunts. If you are on here now, shame on you. You know it, if you were there.

Yeh I'm in the south stand - 3rd tier. Atmosphere for the first game of last season v Chelsea was immense. Thought it would be like that every game but it's got worse and worse.

Thought the atmosphere was bad yesterday.

I may have missed this, but are there plans to expand the North Stand, as they have with the South Stand? The layout as it is gives the ground a lot more character than being symmetrical on all sides. Feels a bit more like an older ground.

Plans exist but no indication of imminent implementation. No point building to provide another 5000 seats at one end to make more corporate areas in the middle that can't be sold.

Loads on here will agree with me that we've lost it big-time.ofcourse I'm an old kippax boy that used to start a lot of the songs back in the day.we never waited for the team to get us going..quite the opposite. I still think it has something to do with the 3 tiered structure we have but still no excuse.
Ah. Nostalgia for a time that never was...
Your memory needs refreshing if you think that. We have always needed a team performance to get us going. The prime example being the Charlton game (0-2?) after the 3-1 derby win (Neville mistake). The Kippax were as quiet as Church mice that day. Plenty of examples from when the Kippax was standing too if you need them.
For the record It was pretty good on Sunday - We out performed the bubbles band, which is something.

In general, I thought the atmosphere was great at Maine Road when we were going for promotion and pretty quiet when we were in the top flight.

The seasons in Divion 2 when we would play Leeds, the Sheffield Clubs, Newcastle, Sunderland and sometimes Chelse stood out. (I know one of the games against Chelski was a very poor turn out).

Look, your all pretty much deluded if you think the atmosphere is great..most of the time the silence is deafening.for the record..the old standing kippax for the majority of the time was like the 12th man.maybe the truth hurts.I've accepted it's shit most of the time.people just don't join in anymore.it's not just at City..it's all over the new stadiums.
