I have a question or an issue and it is regarding the extension schedule for both stands. From what I am seeing from your fantastic pictures and other sources, the south stand expansion seems to be going at an impressively fast and constant pace and it should certainly be completed by August this year at this rate.

The official website mentions intent but not a particular timescale for the extension of the North stand. My question or issue is that why tarry and assess things before building the North stand extension?, why not get the body of the construction work out of the way by starting the North stand almost immediately after the completion of the South stand and thus completing the extension by Summer 2016.

Further extensions and modifications of the stadium like putting seats where the screens are ( will be) and thing can be done on a later date. I do not see the point of waiting for a while before extending the North Stand.

That's what I was on about earlier... the end of the stand seems to have been cut short by about 30 feet or about half a block's worth. I am sure I have seen sketches where it comes out a bit further like mini wings attached to the ends of the stand. There's certainly room for it to have been extended looking at that picture.

Do you think with all the investment going into the area we could have the standard of the roads improved? Lovely shiney new academy and yet there are pot holes on the roads around it. It's really difficult when I'm driving to keep one eye on the holes and one eye on all the new buildings.

I'm guessing, but I don't think the club and the 2015 Rugby World Cup organizers want construction work on-going before and during the Rugby World Cup match at the Etihad. Not to mention moving the cranes, and taking City Square apart, etc. I also don't think the club was 100% sure about new season ticket sales. Obviously with nearly 10,000 on the waiting list, that's no longer a concern. So I expect we won't have to wait too long before the North Stand is expanded as well.

The Rugby World cup is something I did not consider but fair point. Concerning moving the cranes and relocating or taking down the City square, I see it as part of the process of extension of both stands. And that is how I think it should be done- a single project of extension because if the North stand is going to be done anyway why not now. If there are occasions that may delay it for a while like the world cup then that is fine but the extension should be started as soon as possible, get this phase and stadium project over and done with.

Ill be waiting for your next pics as always. Keep up the good work.

Bloody hell, they don't mess about do they?

One thing I would like to see with the Stadium, tying in with our partnership with LG (think it was them) would be to see digital adertising on the exterior of the stadium. Akin to the Allianz where they light it up.

Imagine driving past and there's a reel of highlights being played, or they just have a massive "ETIHAD" on the back of the stand, or a digitalised version of the club crest. It would look absolutely majestic.

Its probably already been covered and on here somewhere mate, but the near 10,000 waiting list,is this just for people wanting to be re-located from other parts of the stadium,or are these figures in addition to the current 36,000 ST we already have.

I reckon I can just about claim this is on topic given that the thread specifically refers to the Etihad Campus and this development is a consequence of City moving to train at the Campus. Anyway, Bury have agreed to lease the Carrington facility that City have vacated.

Text of the story on Bury's official site below. Link here: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.buryfc.co.uk/news/article/statement-of-intent-2292382.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.buryfc.co.uk/news/article/st ... 92382.aspx</a>

Statement of Intent

Tue 24 Feb 2015; Author: @buryfcofficial

New Training Facility for Bury Football Club...

Bury FC is delighted to announce that it has reached an agreement to lease Manchester City FC’s former training ground in Carrington, Greater Manchester, starting March 1st 2015.

The recently vacated training ground of the Premier League Champions, who have relocated to their new facility in East Manchester, is just a stones throw from the M60 ring road, will become Bury FC’s official training base for the next five years as the Shakers prepare to leave their existing Lower Gigg facility.

The lease agreement covers the whole 22 acre site which will be fully Bury FC branded.

Significantly, the Carrington site, will accommodate the needs of all of the Club’s players from the youngest academy intake right through to the first team and includes 6 top of the range full turf pitches, an artificial pitch, fitness, medical and performance analysis suites and various changing rooms and multi purpose offices. The existing facility at Lower Gigg had only one pitch, thereby severely limiting the Club’s options in transitioning developing youth players into first team training and operations.

Speaking of the news, Chairman Stewart Day said: “We are thrilled to have reached this agreement with Manchester City, particularly given the keen interest in a number of parties in leasing the site."

"The facility at Carrington is out of this world and it was an opportunity that we simply could not turn down. It is within easy reach of the Bury area, being situated so close to the Greater Manchester ring road, and crucially enables us to fulfil our vision of having our academy team from under 8s up, playing together at the same time. Whilst we will have fond memories and attachments to our Lower Gigg base, the centre was not sufficient to support our long term ambitions. Being able to have a Premier League standard training facility as our base is a signal of our very real intent to provide our staff and players of all ages with the optimum facilities to support their development and training."
Bury have certainly changed their tone towards us as a club since 1998.

From the last person to post on the new season ticket waiting list, it was close to 10,000. That doesn't include regular season ticket holders, as they won't have paid the £100 deposit yet to secure a new season ticket in the South Stand 3rd tier. Think they get the first choice to move if they so wish.
