Just been to the stadium for the Supporters club AGM and took these pics. I hope this works from my phone.

how did you sneak out - I couldn't find an easy way past the staff on the lower concourse so gave up this year

Looks weird. Hopefully they fill in those corners soon, because it looks daft where it drops then rises steeply into the new stand. Before it was sleek and organic.

Comments like this are like buying Messi and saying he has no right foot and doesn't win enough headers.

There's truth to it but it's not at all important when the overall product is absolutely brilliant.

I don't think some realise how much of a difficult piece of engineering this new stand was to build and design due to the old cable net restrictions.

I do realise to a certain point, because of everything they've had to do, and how long it's taken, to expand just one stand. However, I am no structural architect.

Are you saying that the shape of the ends of the roof are integral to the overall stability of the stadium? Surely the curve of the roof could have been flattened slightly to lead into the roof of the new stand? This would have also given us more space inside the stadium to fill the corners with more seating when we reach that stage. Just looks a bit daft is all.

They can't do the corners because the cable net comes in through them. They'll only be able to be done when the sides are expanded. They've had to create a temporary cornering solution, which will be easy to remove once the expansion reaches that stage. Most of the inner works will be covered up with the new screens in the near future.

they've done pretty well with those corners all things considering - the old roof slopes backwards, the new roof sloops forwards and the ends of each are about 60-70 degrees angled compared to each other - a very complex and subtle shape required to temporarily plug the gap whilst keeping everyone in 111,119,211,212,219 and 220 dry
