I think they had to permanently move the trees around the south stand because they were dying. The amount of salt they use to make sure the ground didn't get icy had, over the years, been absorbed by the trees.
about three feet square but they're not pads, they've just filled in the square holes where the trees were - each infilled hole was surrounded by the temporary fencing as in my photo - its exactly the same out round the back of south stand extension - see the line of trees in the foreground on this old photo - they're now all gone!
Interestingly I'm been back and had a look at the Landscaping Plan for the North Stand and that said these trees would be retained....
And if the club eventually work out pricing of cup games appropriately their attendances should come round eventually too - a big if though...
Any extension would mean more of the cheaper s/c £299 - £450 which would be available to the waiting list as long as they don't increase prices in the rest of the ground if,the pricing policy is the same as the south stand extension we can fill it over the next few years. No way we should be expanding with the pricing policies the club currently has under Soriano, we wouldn't fill it.
It's a real shame to me, genuinely gutting, because I believe we could fill a 60k seater with cheap tickets as of right now.

Yes true , to be fair on the wrap bit though if they are planning to start the North stand soon it would be better to wait until that's done for a digital wrap.West Ham have the go-ahead to increase to 60,000 for next season.
They have sold every corporate exec package, meaning the majority of season tickets will be around £300 for adults and £130 for kids.
Hardly rocket science...
Oh, and they are getting that digital vinyl wrap our stadium has been crying out for years.

One reason could be with renewals selling new family tickets would be difficult I don't know, but if the expansion goes ahead they may look at what West Ham have done., anyway not sure the ticket debate should spill over to this thread.Think they are marketing a Family Ticket of 2 Adults and 2 Children for £776 thereabouts.
Now I know we have a Family Stand, but why do none of our Tickets Sales criteria, either individual match or seasoncard suggest the idea of a Family Ticket.
Missing a huge trick by not offering that as a grouped item of 4 or more seats.
