Went to view one of the boxes for the new arena last night. Some arena and will be amazing to have 140 events a year there. 32 bars, night clubs, 4000 outdoor terrace on match days. We won’t struggle for a ore match pint anymore. Oh and yes - City own Asda. Hotel on its way and the national Rugby academy on the North stand car park. Multi story car park to be built as well. Still plans to do the final stand and exterior. Arena costing £365 million - bit of a game changer.

Fantastic news Worsley, cheers for the update. Any idea on what will happen with the Asda or it's site?

I wonder if the car park will be inside the stadium, like at Newcastle. Proper freaked me out seeing cars parked not just around, but inside the structure of the stands

Forgot to say keep a close eye for fairly quick news on the gas holders! Manchester City council own the Mercedes garage - that will be housing with Manchester life in a joint venture. I think Asda will end up more pitches for Training ground. It’s far too big.

Is the Asda definitely slated to go then?

Any hints on the gas holders? Are they going to be converted for flats perhaps or just getting taken down?

In the light of this, our owners must be giving serious thought to the development of the stadium. They won't want to look grubby by comparison.

Yeah. I’ve got the feeling they’ll do the north stand and the exterior + CB/ES roofs all in one go. If not at the same time, then definitely back to back. Hopefully if the stadium is selected for a potential Euro 2028 then that will speed up the process.

CB and ES ?

no they are staying up with development conversion for flats. Been done elsewhere.

Sorry couldn't do images as file to big, but this gives you an idea, can't imagine Bradford will get the same spec as Kings Cross on St Pancras Basin (starts at £725,000) and a short stroll to Eurostar for lunch in Paris. Think more Hulme Crescent on the Ashton Canal with a short stroll to Metrolink and a Greggs on Wythenshawe Precinct
