Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

I know we’re all thinking, I’ll believe when I see it, but I think the Glazers are serious this time about expanding Old Trafford and redeveloping Carrington.

When United look across the City and see the Etihad Campus they must feel embarrassed about Carrington. Redeveloping the training ground and bringing it up to a similar standard as ours, Liverpool’s, Chelsea’s, Spur’s, etc, should cost too much, around £50mill-£100mill.

As for Old Trafford, whatever they do the Glazers/United aren’t going to get much money back from £500mill-£1bill, depending on what their final proposal for Old Trafford is and how ambitious it is.

Taking the rivalry and piss-taking aside, it will be interesting to see what the final proposals are for Carrington and Old Trafford.

As for City, the sooner City start the North Stand expansion and the Collar Site proposal, the better. But I doubt that will happen until the Coop Live Arena is built and up and running, which is a couple of years away.

Can’t see it being that cheap!

If they don’t give more space for seating it be still like a pig in make up

They’ve got the space on the car parks if they do something similar to how spurs built round the existing white hart lane. It will be an expensive project and another 50 years potentially added to the debt repayments.

Yeah if they look to do similar to spurs they Probably could do it for 750m the northwest bit cheaper than London!

No harm in getting the plans drawn up everyone will go Wow unbelievable it’s going to be the best ground in the world!

They then go looking for sponsors investment of come up with a new stations share scheme, plus if we do get the euros ask for a grant!

One thing with American when comes to building or buying large companies they don’t use there own money all borrowed.

Be surprised if the Glazers paid for it.Maybe had word can get funding for the Euros.Otherwise some kind of long term debt or looking to sell and saddle the new owners I imagine.
I was wondering where the Euros came into it but it looks like only Turkey, Russia and the combined UK & ROI have put bids in for 2028 so could very well be over here again.

Yeah don't feel we've got the full story here. They're not going to spend on a new ground no strings attached. Maybe want to have plans then find someone to pay for it.

That be there plan I said before American owner do not use there own money they’ll be out with the begging bowl and sponsors to pay for it

No doubt they can pull the stunt most American sport franchise owners pull… build us a new stadium or we are off to….. London / Dublin / Tampa !

New Sports Bar, level 2 in the East Stand, which means moving people out of seats which were allocated when they moved into the Etihad 20 years ago. Its not the first time this has happened. Level 2 down both sides of the pitch will now be Corporate for the 2022-23 season. No thought for the fans once again, we knew this was coming but still a shock, season ticket holder for 48 years, so what ?, it certainly tests your loyalty.

What annoys me is that we struggle to sell out those corporate areas and when we do we often have lots of away fans in those areas.

the club/ higher ups care more about money then anything else. What that’s meant is a large portion of city fans who have been priced out or fans that have gotten used to not going.

more empty seats/ struggling to sell out and corporate sections full of Liverpool/ away fans will happen more

It’s already happening, but we’ll end up in a situation where people on average incomes can only afford south stand level 3 and the odd cup game. I’e most of our fanbase

Is this something you have had an email about?

No she doesn't. If the ground is good enough for the Women's Super League of which it is then it's good enough for Iceland v Belgium and Italy of which no one is interested in viewing.
She plays for Lyon who boss Europe with a 1,500 capacity.
