Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

That stand at the Principality stadium - is awful but it was an engineering compromise - that side of the stadium is adjacent to the Cardiff Rugby ground and there’s effectively two stands back to back… the lottery wouldn’t pay for the demolition and rebuilding of a standard for CardiffBlues so that structure had to remain and be incorporated into the new stadium… ironically it’s no thought to have concrete cancer and will need to be upgraded !
It is awful in that triple tier configuration but the only example of a larger top tier I could think of

Think from next season they should do it have a large section like Dortmund's yellow wall majority safe standing so younger fans can sing without being told to be quiet around them. Reflect this in the ST prices and watch the noise increase inside the Etihad tenfold!

There are better examples. Napoli’s stadium has a large 2nd tier behind the goal.(and around the rest of the stadium)

Those pictures you post on Sky Scraper of the Co Op doesn't give it justice for the size of it. Was grabbing a free coach to Wembley, don't normally go that side of the ground, it's huge.

To be honest, a third tier would be better than nothing. The atmosphere would improve massively if they kept tickets cheap, moved the family stand to a much smaller area and didn’t convert the whole of level 2 into corporate seats!

Don’t rule out our owners building a new stadium in the future, spurs have taken stadium design to another level, the rags may build a new one, we will not be left behind , so no news on the north stand might be good news.

That is not true. The tram service this year has been far better this season than recent years. Still not perfect but getting there. It just needs a bit of planning by those in charge to put enough trams in place after the end of the match.

Some if these comment here are hilarious. The suggestions to build monorail, elevated transport systems, heavy rail lines all to transport people 1.5 miles from and to the City Centre for (generally) less than 30 match days a year over a four to five hour period do not stack up.
Yes, some people suggest weird and wonderful things. So, to service the already existing infrastructure in a better way would bring massve improvements. The after match tram frequency is horrendous most of the time. Get more trams there ready to go.

If I was to guess, it would be there will be some announcement in the spring next year that work with start on an expanded larg second tier to start end of 23 start 24, open for start 25/26 season. Just a guess though.
