Chelsea home sold out today, 5 weeks in advance. You just have to wonder exactly how many fans we could get for these big games, especially if we brought in thousands of lower priced tickets in an expanded stadium. Could we top United's attendances for big games with £10-£15 tickets?

In my opinion, NO

You don't think we could get 77,000 even for the derby if we had £10-£15 tickets? I'm not sure, I really think we could. Not only our huge Mancunian fanbase but tourists too would want tickets at those prices.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Yes, but not for all the games, and dependent on prices.

Seems to have gone quiet on the stadium front recently

Easily at those prices and for "big games". Of course if we did we'd lose money compared to our current income although that would be partly offest by catering etc. We might even get crowds of that size if we charged £25-30 for those games. 46,000 for Watford in the cup shows that price is a major factor. I reckon we could get 80,000 for games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool albeit a lot of those would be away fans and neutrals.

You have to remember that if fans of other clubs knew we were only going to charge them £10-30 or so, they would make the game at City the one away game a season they actually made sure they went to.

Its the tram wots done it!

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Again - £20 tickets (£5 for kids) for Stoke away, over 4,000 sold out before you can blink. Watford home - £15/£20 tickets (£1/£5 for kids), sold out in advance. It's obvious, cater as much to the working class as the middle class and our attendances would skyrocket in an expanded stadium. We must have one of the biggest working class followings in England, I hope the club realises the potential if they expand the stadium.

BTW.Thanks for the offer. ;-) Apologies, but I couldn't get out of work today.

Johnny de Rivative: ’Football crowd’ exercise continued . . .back up the hills to the stadium :- [/i]

The Medlock bridge is one of my favourite bits. Apologies for dwelling in this area on poor quality, but the cab views are a ‘first look’ from this angle, on a short alignment carved out specifically for Metrolink ‘from the bush’ (i.e. a bit of no-man’s land by the canal and the river) :-

The tinted glass in the cab doors does seem to be a problem for photography. I wonder if any of you photography buffs can advise? The only time I’ve managed anything half-decent has been on a bright sunny day.
