Etihad not City of Manchester Stadium

UEFA and FIFA are a joke when it comes to sponsors.

Would you believe that in the WC on Germany you could only buy merchandise with a MasterCard and they refused to accept Visa?!?

(it could have been the other way round but whatever way it meant I had to pay for everyone when on a corporate jolly)

They don't recognise corporate sponsored grounds I believe. You won't find Arsenal as the Emirates either.

Ironic then they are happy to take my seat for their sponsors then.

Here's the CL rules on team and stadium naming:

4.04 The club may use its name and/or logo provided all the following
requirements are satisfied:
d) the name and logo do not refer to the name of a commercial partner.
Exceptions to this rule may be granted by the UEFA administration in any
case of particular hardship (e.g. long-term existing name, etc.) on
reasoned request of the club concerned.

4.3. Commercial exclusivity
During a site visit to each stadium (and as set out in the UEFA Champions
League Club Manual), the exclusive area is defined in accordance with
paragraph 2.2 of this Annex VI.
Any stadium naming rights which have been granted by the club will be
subject to the normal UEFA Champions League requirements regarding the
exclusive area. This means that, subject to the following exceptions, no
branding of the stadium sponsor (for example, any name, logo, trademark,
design elements, slogan or corporate colours) may be visible in the exclusive
area. Similarly, subject to the following exceptions, no such branding may be
visible on any UEFA Champions League printed materials.
The following exceptions apply only in relation to one stadium sponsor which
has been granted long-term stadium naming rights:
a) The name of the stadium sponsor may be announced (as part of the
stadium name) over the stadium PA system for the sole purpose of
denominating the stadium if required for safety and security reasons. No
additional identification connected with the stadium sponsor (for example,
a jingle) may be included with the announcement.
b) The name of the stadium sponsor may appear (as part of the stadium
name) on printed materials for the UEFA Champions League and the
play-offs, including match tickets, for the sole purpose of denominating
the stadium if required for safety and security reasons and only in a noncommercial
typeface, colour and without any logos.
c) The name of the stadium sponsor may appear (as part of the permanent
stadium name signage) on the outside of the stadium building. Existing
signage must be determined during the site visit to ensure that no
additional signage is subsequently added.

So, because Red Bull Salzburg have recently been called by this name they have to revert to their old name, but teams like PSV Eindhoven (Philips Sport Vereniging), Bayer Leverkusen &, FC Carl Zeiss Jena would be able to use their name.

Those toilets must have been very expensive if you had to pay by credit card!!!

Sorry I shall now retire to the darkened room :-)

Personally i find anyone who calls our ground as the Etihad as weird and cringey.
