Didn't someone say yesterday that the deal was done - except for Eto'o sorting some stuff with Barca. Am I right in thinking the issue is that City want him, he's happy to come for the money on offer and Barca want him out. However, its in his interests to say he wants to stay and in Barcas to say he wants to go because there is a loyalty bonus at stake - this is the stuff that needs sorting with Barca?

So if he stays it isn't because he is put out that Barca want him out it is because he believes that he can get a better deal in 12 months than the one on offer now with a higher ranking club.

But basically he is happy to go now but is playing an elaborate game of cat and mouse over the loyalty bonus?

Somebody is gonn have to leave to make room for him

A work colleague's wife's sister's husband's best friend (I know, but it's absolutely true) who has worked for Barça for donkey's years (and who invariable turns out to be right on all things Barça) says that Eto'o is bad news: a bit bonkers, eccentric behaviour, liable to fly of the handle, 'thinks he's the king of Cameroon' and above all, is a loose cannon in the dressing room. Barça have been trying to shift him for a couple of years now, and not just for the money.

I think City can do without. The mere fact that Barça's president is puffing the deal so much makes it smell fishy!
