EU Journo Guidelines

They financed it and the EU don't do anything without some sort of input. So yes it's relevant. What would the socialists have done if the Tories would have funded something like this?
Something like what? They're guidelines to counter dehumanization of migration policies, lack of empathy with life and rights, rise of islamophobia and xenophobic speeches, commercialization of journalistic information, etc. Nothing much wrong with that imo.
Furthermore, these are conclusions made by media professionals, not politicians.

There is everything wrong with it. No governmental body should be telling the press what they can or can't write.

Why would there be a need for such an organisation with those objectives if everything is ok? There wasn't much reporting freedom when gagging orders were used to keep the family man out of the press.
What?? The group was founded in 1950 and monitors press freedom around the world and responds to threats and attacks on journalists and media outlets. Not to be some sort of mouthpiece or to serve EU interests..

But it's not a governmental body, nor is it telling anyone what to do do.
They published guidelines and nobody is in any way obliged to adhere to them..

Gagging orders are legal injunctions brought in accordance with UK law. What have they to do with a pressure group that receives EU funding? And why are you all setting your hair on fire over a pressure group anyway?

That aside why do they feel the need to issue reporting guidelines claiming the news and media can sway public opinion so report something this way so we can er.....sway public opinion.

Its a fucking joke.

Again...what would Labour have said if the Tories funded this group, they'd have been incandescent with rage.

The point he was making is the press isn't free and hasn't been for a while, and this "Pressure group" funded by the EU could be an entry level hamstringer of what little press freedom is left.
