Like when the lightning strck this pitch?... The players who were intervieved afterwards said it felt like the were hit by a sledge hammer. Luckily nobody died.

They were just shocked.

I've had 8 lighting strikes in aircraft, 3 on the same flight. It's just the shock of not expecting it. The stadium is designed to be struck by lightning as every large structure is. It's complete overkill by a ref who isn't used to living in an area susceptible to summer thunderstorms. They are common place and this is an over reaction.
