Once again you've spectacularly missed the point.
It's not about what people do or don't do. It's about what they say AND do.
You know, talk the talk and walk the walk.
If I tell you I've given up drinking and then you see me pissed on a friday night, you lose respect for me, my word means nothing, and I become a joke.
You wouldn't look and think "Oh, he's had a tough week, I'll let him off this one", you'd give me shit and take the piss out of me. And rightly so, because I'm telling you one thing whilst doing another
THAT's what the fuss is about.
FWIW I agree with you, coaches should be flexible and able to change their tactics/approach whenever the situation dictates. I wouldn't cheer a Haaland goal any less if were a hoof up to him than I would an intricately made team goal.
The rags are shit, most of their players are shit, but the manager has come out and said "We play a certain way"
If he'd said "We chose our tactics to suit the situation" or "the end justifies the means" there'd be no fuss.
Now do you get it?
