Europa League/Conference League Games - 27 October '22

Our impartial bbc is creaming itself self silly on its match day live. The rat face diver has been 'quietly excellent'. Goodness me I forgot they were playing a Romanian pub team the way its being described they are playing Peps prime Barcelona.

Group F the best place to be on last matchday.

All teams could finish on 8 points.

They'll get beat off Silva Sociedad next week then get filled in off Barça or Juve in the next round.

The Ushited Way.

i was driving through stretford at 7:15 home from town and realised united must be playing - i hadn't thought about it, nonone at work mentioned it.

but even for city, chelsea, west hame tonight. who gives a fuck about european football?

there is a buzz of saturday and sunday afternoons when big premier league games are on, lads going to the pub, putting their fucking ‘accas’ on etc.

for champions league and uefa cup the tv audiences are miniscule; there’s no highlights show on terrestrial tv anymore and for city at least many of the premier league season ticket holders don't attend because they either don’t want the extra expense or can’t be bothered midweek which I completely get.

last time i went to champions league game up in the third tier of the bell end all the usual season ticket holding faces around me were absent and it was wall to wall chinese tourists plus empty seats galore. the atmosphere was shocking

not sure what my point but it just feels more and more football served up like slop in a trough and we’re the pigs stuffing our faces with this mediocre crap.

cancel the nations league, cancel the league cup, cancel the euros and just have a world cup every four years with a much more spaced out qualifying period.

because this football shit is 75% of the time boring as fuck
Bloody hell I thought that I had written that, well said that man.

We’re running on empty atm
In fairness, if you're going to put in a lacklustre performance it may aswell be in a europa group stage that you've alredy qualified from. Didn't watch any of it so can't comment on the performance, I was just surprised Arteta played such a strong side in the first place, and then that such strong side lost.

I said it before the game, they are playing, at best, a 2nd division quality team with PR7 earning more wages in a week than the other team has spent on transfers in the last 4 years combined. It’s a no contest game which we would have rotated heavily for
