Not to belittle Sevilla's acheivement of three straight Europa League wins... but it just goes to show how stupid the way the competition works with teams who finish 3rd in the Champs League group stages dropping into the latter stages of the Europa.

Sevilla have won the Europa, came 3rd in the champs league, won the Europa, came 3rd in the champs league, won the Europa. Surely that belittles the competition even further.

I mean only Villarreal from the final 4 were in the competition from the start.

In my op both 3rd and 4th in the group stages of Champs League should receive fuck all in the way of dropping into a "lesser" competition.

I'm just surprised Arsene hasn't worked this out yet and tried it himself! "Wait a min, finish 4th in the league for champs league, 3rd in the group stages then try win the Europa!".

Weren't Liverpool in the competition from the start too?
