If we were in it and won I would be very happy, but we ain't so I am not arsed. I ain't even arsed that the rags won it. We were in the better comp of the 2 so it's irrelevant whether they won or not. We are at a higher level. Now all I can say is scummy rag arse wipes.
In winning titles you'd get promoted yeah. So you wouldn't be down anywhere long. When did we become so successful that we could dismiss certain trophies as not worth winning? If we had won those two trophies neither you or any other city fan would be complaining. You'd have enjoyed seeing the team win it and celebrated us doing so.

They've won a cup that the elite are excluded from taking part in.
For me making the 100m Olympic final is a more impressive achievement than winning the 100m final at the European championships.
United have won the Europa, a trophy the top 16 teams in Europe are excluded from.
Newcastle have also won a trophy that excludes the elite. A trophy I'd want to win if we were in the tournament. However, much like the Europa I get more joy from not being in it!

We can't be judged for not winning competitions we're not in.
I'd prefer to be too good to qualify for the UEFA cup than too shit to qualify for the CL.

They also having achieved what we have achieved have two other trophies to show for the season. I don't care about them. The Europe is inconsequential to us, we were excluded from it. It's as relevant to City as the FA Vase. Two pots we can't win and can't enter due to our ranking in the game.
Would I prefer a win at all costs League Cup and absolutely no visable progression than our season? No.
Stop getting hung up on the Europa, it is of no concern of ours, much like the FA Vase, the LDV Van, Cecka Trade or the Stanley cup for that matter.
They've won a Cup that the top 16 teams in Europe are not allowed to enter. To me, that is no achievement for a team like City. Would I go if we were in it? Yes. But I doubt we'll be in it for some time, so it's of no consequence to us. As I said, we can't win things we are too elite to enter.
If you're determind to compare the two. 3rd is better than 6th and the league cup. We weren't allowed in the UEFA, so comparisons simply can not be made.
