They defended well enough to suck the life out of the game and never left themselves open by really taking the game to us with any intent to win it... Or in other words they had a very expensively assembled squad playing like they were scared to lose because they know they couldn't match us.

When will people actually accept the full back issue is not the problem it is missed chances from our so called great forward players that cost us the title !

The fullbacks are the problem though.

Our fullbacks couldn't get up and down the pitch. They couldn't provide width in the final third.

That meant the width had to come from the wingers, which meant they could get into the box to score more.

Rather ironic in view of a lot of the comments on here.

They've won two trophies plus the Charity/ Community Shield that really doesn't count, but whether we like it or not they've had a better season than us. I don't say we should be going out and shaking their supporters by the hand, but it's the reality. And in years to come no City supporter will look back on this season as anything but a disappointment.

This year's been a reality check for Guardiola. He believed his own hype (and I still shudder at the boy band outfits.)

I believe and hope that a lots been learned and it will be onwards and upwards next year.

It's more to do with the events in Manchester this week than being a bad winner that people will get mad at. A CityUnited seemed corny to me but it is a nice gesture to the families affected, putting rivalries aside for a few days, especially an occasion with so much attention on it and numerous mentions of the events during the game. Most of us fans would still be wanting them to lose and them taunting us... but the official channels, the club, the players are supposed to be different they are in the public eye.

We dominated them every second of that game. Any other day we would've won. Read my post again I was on about their second team not their first.

Story of our season dominate a game and fail to win, but seems like that is what everyone wants these days dominate possession and end up winning nothing, but hey ho we can laugh at the rubbish football over the road that has won 4 trophies in 2 seasons but hey no we win the 78% possession trophy and the 15 corners a game trophy

Ask the same question of who won the Champions League 5 years ago without looking in the record books, when it's gone that's it for most people I only remember who won last seasons Europa cos I saw us destroy them in the Champions League at their place with our best performance of the season.
