Europa League

I really don't think Pep or the owners will see it as a priority at all. He will most likely play the kids and we'll get knocked out as soon as possible.

No one gives a damn? Are you sure? Have you not seem the coverage the mightily Liverpool have had. It's on a par with the world cup don't you know

Yea I am sure, regardless of what newspapers are doing to try and stay in business. Admittedly it's one step up from The League Cup but even so it's not a major competition.

Never going to happen. Our owners would want us to win it.We should play the kids in the carling cup and fa cup though. Never understood why we played full teams in every comp.

I'm not sure they would want us to win it. But I do think they would be mindful of the impact on our reputation if we were to totally disrespect the competition.

I don't think the decision to play the kids at Chelsea was taken lightly (and even then it was only 7 kids in the 18 man squad, 11 senior players made the trip). I don't think the club welcomed the criticism that drew. The owners are trying to build City's reputation worldwide. They will reluctantly accept that means paying more than lip service to the competition.

I will watch it with passion if we play the kids only.

Hopefully Pep will give them a chance to play Carling Cup & Europa League next season.

But if you win you get into the Champions League - so that gives us two chances.

Ok then, I'm on board - I'm going to put my faith in this squad (manager included) and trust we'll do what we have to, and hope that we get favours from elsewhere.

Last chance for them to repay my (and alot of other's) faith.

Come on City, let's do this.

They can't now. It should be come on West Ham. They are our only hope.

We're just not going to field line ups made up entirely of kids. The owners will not allow it. The 18 man squads for the early rounds will probably include 6 or 7 kids, 7 or 8 fringe senior players and a handful of senior players on the bench.

The main benefit of being in the EL rather than the CL would probably be on the fitness regime. We could expect a more intensive early season fitness programme as Guardiola wouldn't need to make sure we are fresh during the autumn when the midweek games are played.

Indeed. Of course West Ham may get a result and we may beat Swansea but once it is out of our hands and with so few matches left for things to swing back our way, I find it impossible to show the optimism/confidence that some are still showing this morning that we will still finish in the top 4. Knocks me sick to think that there is every chance united and Liverpool will be in the Champions League next season and we have blown it so badly.
