European Style Butter - baking help

Hey guys, I hope someone on here can help me with this one. Making waffles and my recipe tells me to use "European style butter". Have no clue what this is, is it just normal butter?

According to Google, it has a higher fat content than normal US butter and is better for some recipes.

I live in Europe and the butter is the same as the UK butter I grew up with.

Dont the yanks whisk theirs thus introducing more air, so a cup full ( the yanks favorite measure cos it's easy) would contain less actual butter. Just a thought...
