I dislike tradition. But this really isn't one is it? It aint a 'British thing' like the other things you mentioned. Loads of nations are in on it.
But it's pretty harmless and brings people together.

Yep that it is. With me being wary of tradition I meant the shit stuff like The Grand National which is mad, fox hunting..moris dancing :) etc.
Gotta move on. But a world song contest? sounds good! but aren't there over 200 countries? It'd be a 2 bottler.. (of absinthe that is) Would take about 12 hours, if they were 3 minute songs.
