Eventually it's coming,but...

When dinho goes we should make a big deal about him being our best ever holding midfielder. Would piss yaya off royally.

Hopefully he'll end up with 4 premier league's, a few cups and a couple of CL trophies :-)

To be fair, Fernandinho isn’t in the same breath as David and Vinnie for me.

Don't even want to think about those 3 leaving.

18months ago I was getting to terms with eventually wishing Kompany goodbye (probably retirement) but he seems to be coping a bit better with his injuries these days (touch wood), so I'm not even thinking about it anymore.

Won't be able to cope when Sergio and David go either.

Echo the thoughts above, Fernandinho has put himself alongside our greats and will be a huge loss when it's his time.

All the players mentioned have the absolute right to be called legends of this club and will be sorely missed when they leave. David Silva is probably the best player to ever play for us. Vinny was there at the start of this incredible journey and had lead us to success none of us have ever seen before. Fernandinho is without doubt the best DM the club has ever had and has been integral to our success in the Sheikh era. KDB will, without doubt, join the legends group (actually he’s already there). Having said all that, only one man, Sergio, has created history. He is the Clubs highest ever scorer and that will live in the record books forever or at least until someone takes it away from him. His scoring record is truly remarkable and its hard to imagine we’ll see his like again.

What a great time to be a Blue.

Kompany will remain involved in the club in some fun, which will make his playing departure less sad. Silva I’ll be absolutely gutted - he’s my favourite player. Equally Aguero will a huge loss. We have some great legends.

I don't really understand why the 3 of them are considering leaving in the next two years unless their form/ability drops off massively. They are all playing some of the best football they've ever played. Aguero after his knee surgery looks like a 21 year old again, Vinny has had a bit of luck with his injuries lately and Silva has never had many issues (and was never fast to begin with). I honestly feel that the sports science today is so much better than 10-20 years ago that players will still be competitive well into their 30s, I think this generation will be the start of that. Weather they want to continue playing football of course is another matter, Aguero looked particularly sad in the doco when talking about hanging out at home on his own / not having his boy with him.

Vinnie has already saod that he will be attched to City in whatever way the club choose.

Vinnie and Dave equally.

But as others have said, it won't be goodbye as such for Vinnie because he will probably be at the club until he dies. There's a good bet that he'll even be manager in a few years.

The Zabba one got me in the feels. The Yaya one was more appreciation than anything else. Kun would be similar to Zaba's. Vinny the same. For David, it will break me. Dreading the day.

As much as it will be hard to take and replace footballing wise I think Dave and Sergio should go together.

Least we wouldn't have to go through it twice.

I grew up hearing stories of Bell, Lee and Summerbee but Kompany, Silva and Aguero are going to go down as THE legends of my lifetime.

I felt really down when Hart left. When Zabba left I felt like it was the end of a relationship, however when Vinny leaves I think there will be tears. I'm not a crier, didn't cry at my wedding day, at funerals or when my baby was born. when City won the league I cried and I think when VK leaves it'll be the same.

we've never had a spine like the one from the last 8 years in my lifetime. I'm 30 and the city from my Youth was one or two class players, Ali B, Goater, Kinky, SWP etc.. but this team I've matured with. sad times, why can't footballers be ageless?!

Great post.^ All the players mentioned are already legends. David Silva is my favourite. Merlin is an apt name.
Good to see/hear other professionals are recognising his worth.
His only downside is not getting into Garth Crooks team of the week...................lol - every week!.

To be fair, Spanish Dave and Serge have always maintained that they would like to go back to play at their local / chosen clubs when their contracts expire with us.

It may get further delayed due to maintaining fitness and form but I don't think they want to return at a point where they can no longer contribute.
