Bit like the 2024 cup final when the only clear cut chance we created was for the rags.To be fair, we did provide a couple of decent assists for them both.

I’m sure I’ve read that it will be in Cardiff this year. Not sure , bottling is usually when the firm favourites who have topped the league all season finish in 2nd place , we have had two days at the top of the league , and have never been fancied to win the title by anybody , maybe we should be appreciated for the fact we have created a title race . If we hadnt stepped up the Goons would have won the title by Easter , so well done Pep and the players , a season of transition has turned into a probable two trophies , champions league football and developed some very promising young players for a very optimistic 2026/7 season.
If we do win the FA Cup the Community Shield will be our fourth visit to Wembley in 2026 , bloody expensive as well
Yes it is.I’m sure I’ve read that it will be in Cardiff this year.
Doesn't really stick though because we have one of the best finishers ever in the team, and we've managed to get him missing chances as well! I guess we create more chances than other teams, but i'm sure someone has the data in how many big chances we miss. Against Everton in the first half, we were making chances but barely made Pickford work, it was comical at times.I\ve been saying for a good number of seasons, including every title winning season, when a chance has gone begging that any journeymen striker from the top two divisions would bury it!
I've just been watching some highlights from a previous Brentford game and having seen Cancelo miss three chances of a similar fashion I thought much the same thing?Doesn't really stick though because we have one of the best finishers ever in the team, and we've managed to get him missing chances as well! Google translate is your friend :)Bottling is not winning from place of advantage which we had lost arsenal win
Not beating Burnley was first step towards bottljob given our gd yesterday was other
Bottling it is when you don’t show up at all. Liverpool have bottled the league this season spending about £400m as Champions and being nowhere near it.When Arsenal win the league. It will be us that has bottled it.
There is no explanation. An experienced assistant referee (a) saw Barry in an offside position and just stopped, (b) didn't then keep up with play, and (c) whether by colusion with the referee or off his own initiative he then put his flag up for a non-existent offside. He'll be marked down for that.Anyone able to explain in simple terms as to why the linesman put his flag up for the Guehi backpass incident?
Would he not have known it was a new phase to play?
Does seem a bit bizarre that hes 10 yards from the incident but clearly thinks that whatever Barry did was classed as offside
And then based on that, what is then classed as the clear and obvious error in order to change the onfield decision
This, all day.Utter nonsense.
Bottling is when you’ve got a free run, are miles odds on favourites and then screw it up.
Until the last month or so we haven’t even looked like contending for the title. I think it’s fair to say we’re in a better position than anyone thought we would be just 3 months ago.
It was already open, just a bit wider nowEverton Man United draw at old Trafford opened the doors for a our title win
Who know this draw might open the door for arsenal
There is no other word for Arsenal over the last few seasons apart from bottlers, they are the definition of the wordBottling it is when you don’t show up at all. Liverpool have bottled the league this season spending about £400m as Champions and being nowhere near it.
I wouldn’t call Arsenal’s seasons where they had a healthy lead and not winning it, as bottling it. They threw it away more than bottled it.
I think we’ve done well to be where we are as this team is very early in its development.

100% agree, this winning all five in a row none sense...we haven't been close to that sort of form all season, (nor have Arsenal really) Everton away, for us is a tough game. and so it proved. One thing that i think Pep doesn't like is unfamiliarity, new stadiums, interim managers etc.. i think that slight lack of 'confidence' / self assurance if you like, could be translated to the team. I think he feels so much better when its against a team he sort of knows, stadium he is used etc...then again... that might not have anything to do with it. Everton are pushing for a top 7 spot, in old money an away draw with a good team like this was considered decent. Also we scored three goal of the season (for us) contenders in one game and away! unheard of ...well done lads really - although the last goal post injury time..if boot was t'other foot!!It's the usual meltdown, everybody looking for someone to blame but apart from the bizarre offside rule (and there was a hint of offside for their third, probably wasn't but no cameras, no VAR, no checks), and for the second I thought Khusanov was fouled. But we know, or should, that we're not quite there yet in terms of being title challengers yet here we are, still in with an (abeit outside) chance.
But nobody has given Everton any credit, it's the usual [insert team we're playing this week here] hate nonsense, but to be fair to them they put 3 past Chelsea a couple of weeks ago, only lost their derby to a 1000th minute goal, and I think that's the 5th time they've scored 3 goals this season which is rare for a mid-table team. We all knew it was going to be a tough match, yet suddenly everyone seems surprised that's exactly how it turned out. I said ahead of the match that I thought this was likely to be tougher than Bournemouth.
Or,,,,,not as good as the fawning 'meeeja' make out, they lack a lot when Odegaard is off it... also Trossard, when on form they are really creative, BUT ..like Saka this season, they are so inconsistent..so not really a class side I don't thinkThere is no other word for Arsenal over the last few seasons apart from bottlers, they are the definition of the word
We did have to drag half the first team off the bench at wobbly! show's we have a lot of weaker players really from say 13 - 25 in the squad really..i'll include our Phil in that group this season...we need to address that lack of quality next season.. also what is it about academy football, for all our wins, trophies etc.. we rarely have players that can genuinely step up.... i know it's tough but so many are international youth players, prem youth league & cup winners etc... yet really struggle even when in their 20's.. only have to look at the lack of impact they have when they leave..Rogers aside,, although a Middlesbrough prodigyAnnoying to be so unorganised after 9 days to prepare
totally agree with this, we have produced some outstanding talents but very little in our under 23s would Pep trust to start in the first 11 even with injuries, there is no one answer but my method would be to move all our over 18 British players out on loan to foreign leagues, and bring in foreign youth players, a lot closer to our first team, obviously not a one size fits all, but it does give Pep options when neededWe did have to drag half the first team off the bench at wobbly! show's we have a lot of weaker players really from say 13 - 25 in the squad really..i'll include our Phil in that group this season...we need to address that lack of quality next season.. also what is it about academy football, for all our wins, trophies etc.. we rarely have players that can genuinely step up.... i know it's tough but so many are international youth players, prem youth league & cup winners etc... yet really struggle even when in their 20's.. only have to look at the lack of impact they have when they leave..Rogers aside,, although a Middlesbrough prodigy
