Everton (a) post-match thread

Just watched the highlights again and Var tells the ref in his ear that it's offside and he immediately shows the sign or move for offside. Why hasn't this been picked up ? It looked handball though by Rodders.

The ref clearly indicated offside after the var decision came through . He raised his arm and pointed along the pitch indicating it was off . Not sure if anyone can play it back and confirm it as I might have been seeing something different.
He definitely signalled to offside and it was Richarlison that looked off in the build up to it. There wasn’t anyone offside after the handball either.

Manchester City
  • Manchester City have won each of their last 10 matches against Everton in all competitions, making it Pep Guardiola’s joint-longest winning run against an opponent in his managerial career (also 10 v Watford).
  • Manchester City’s Phil Foden has scored 10 of his last 12 Premier League goals away from home. He has scored three goals against Everton in the competition, only netting more versus Brighton (four).
  • Man City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne made his 200th Premier League appearance; his 80 assists is the most of any player within their first 200 matches in the competition’s history.
Would have been more than 10 if Calvert-Lewin hadn’t faked an elbow to get Walker sent off.

Am I the only one thinking it was t shirt first? Therefore correct decision!
That's what I think, the image sky keep showing is a split second after the original contact, I think the ball is traveling away from Rhodri and hits the top of the arm/shirt first, therefore not a penalty, I think in order to overturn the original decision they would have needed the opposite camera angle. It was a bit lucky as if it had been given VAR wouldn't have overturned it

Can we expect official statement from PL why that wasn’t a penalty, so we can troll a dippers tomorrow?

That's what my commentators said. They even showed video. Now I'm totally confused.

Damn! I really need to fire my TV commentators. They assured me there was an offside. Here I am like a bloody sheep spewing wrong info :(
Conflicting info. Our broadcasters not saying anything about it being offside. Lampard has been told it wasn’t offside in the build up, yet some people are still saying it was offside.

State of this fuckin thread. Trying to justify anything so that we didn't benefit from Var or the Ref.

Listen it was fuckin Handball, No fuckin Offside, No fuckin agenda for the Scousers to win it ( Although Rawk has about 8 threads on us having every official in our back pocket )

We've Boiled a lot of piss just enjoy it.
Must have us confused with another country, Italy…Juventus?

The universe looked at that and went nah mate, that's such a ridiculous situation to give away a handball and these cunts have been at it all game, so then intervened. God is a City fan.

That’s nonsense, with all due respect.

Half of us will try to justify the decision by saying it was offside in the build up. (Incorrectly.)

The other half will laugh it off and say it was checked by VAR and it obviously can’t have been a handball.

Low self esteem? Fuck off, lol.
I will apologize again and say it is low self esteem because when we follow the official line and hook line and sinker and even when we can see the wrong in it, we still go ahead and follow it, there is only one name for that.

If we insist that VAR/ref made the wrong call in our Favour but cannot defend it, then I don’t know what else to call that. See if we get the rub of green from officials, it’s all good to admit it and that is honesty but to try to work out reasons why the officials won us the game as per the Skysports line, when that didn’t happen, that’s unforgivable. Offsides are offsides no matter how close.

No idea about the offside or not but didn't think it was a clear enough handball to overturn the ref's decision. Commentators here were also of the same opinion.
