It wasn’t offside until after Rodri had controlled the ball, the ball cleared and they were then offside in the subsequent attack.

Because the play was stopped from an offside that occurred after the handball appeal (think it was against Gordon). Then they checked var for the handball, decided it wasn’t handball so the game restarted for the offside that was given after the appeal.

It doesn’t have to. If it had been offside in the build up, VAR would have shown their working out of that.

It wasn’t offside and we were lucky to not have a penalty given against us.

No penalty given then the offside followed after.
Var checked the penalty claim.No penalty so the original offside after the claim was given.
