It is actually one of my favourite grounds ,had a lot of trouble in the 80s,but as time went on always used to look forward to going to a proper traditional ground ,whilst every other club was becoming all shiny and new

Been some Fantastic games between us at Goodison,the best ever,in my life time ( although I wasn't there )
Was the 81 F A cup quarter final,.when two of my favourite City players Gerry Gow and Paul Power scored to snatch a 2-2 draw.
What a match that was! .still remember listening to my radio as a City daft teenager...as the match ebbed and flowed from end to end.
Goodison was also the first ground id watched city at with a crowd of over 50 thousand..league cup quarter finals 87/88 season. A Great old ground is Goodison.

Nice post. Some great memories there. It will be sad to leave, but times change.

It shouldn't be a factor. But it almost definitely is for some. They see it as the pinnacle, a showcase to exhibit their talents. Plus, I'm guessing there's nice win bonuses for the players for winning games, as well as the club.

Yes but we’re talking about 1 year and then if things don’t go to plan next year which they might not because it will take time getting used to new players it’s 2 years of critical times in players careers. I totally agree it’s mad but for Wirtz for example, would he rather CL football with Bayern or Madrid or Europa League with City in a completely new environment for him.
