Everton (FA Cup) Post Match Thread

Excellent result.

We played well in patches but Everton made it difficult by packing the middle with 2 CDs and 3 CMs which meant there wasn't much rooms for our creative players to operate. Once they started to tire, spaces started opening and we started creating more chances.

We looked very solid at the back and Everton's only hope/tactic seemed to be to play for long throw ins and corners/free-kicks.

Not at our best but that was largely down to how Everton played and I never felt we were in any danger of not going through.

Hard game against a dirty team. Teams struggle against us in the last 10mins as they are exhausted.

Foden, fern & zinc excellent
Gundy right place right time again.

good run out for laporte too we really need him match sharp.

raz is trying but right now should not be starting for city in important games his confidence is shot. Not sure I can say that as some might cry that I disagree with them!

yes Jesus worked his ass off but zero threat in their box is my only concern for him again but again some don’t like this either.

good win with some legs rested

A really pleasing aspect of the game was just how hard the team fought. It's an excellent sight.

Everton never wanted to make a proper game of it. We had to be very patient and take the opportunities when or if they came. Credit to us for a very professional and efficient performance. Sterling is going to be on the bench regularly if he doesn't step up.

Everton were well up for that, posed a really strong physical challenge. Great attitude from the players to come through that tie.

I think this is a good point. Every once in a while we will come against teams like this and the fact that we were able to break them without KDB says a lot about this team.
What a victory!

Gabby will be sore tomorrow, tough game, quality was the difference in the end

Really enjoyed that I really did. Everton were horrible and made it a tough nasty game, but we showed there we wouldn’t be bullied by anyone. We mixed it when we needed to and had the confidence that our play would get us the goal. Brilliant win that.

Did anybody notice the stadium announcer when de bruyne scored he said Manchester United, what a bell end.
