Very professional performance and result against a negative Everton team looking for penalties to decide the game.Zinchenko superb and a lot of 7/10 from others,very calm and team has so much belief that they would score.

Credit to everton ,think they gave us our hardest game physically this season up to now.
A big welldone to our team though for putting in an hardworking performance like that after playing & travelling in europe in midweek.
This team don't know when they are beaten , they could of folded if they wanted to but no way was that going to happen , they want to win every game they play in .

Think these are slightly unfair tbh. You dont go toe to toe with City unless you have top talent which we dont, nevermind missing James and Doucoure, 2 of our best players in an important area of the pitch.

The plan was obviously to stay compact, dont leave spaces and see if we can hit on the counter. We done well to a point but just lacked quality and ultimately got beat by a better team, no issue with that. Ideally I would like us to be much better on the ball but hopefully its something we address in the summer.

I understand your frustration when teams do that but its a complinent to your quality

Indeed,I’m not complaining about wanting you to go toe to toe just show a bit more endeavour and cut the snidey fouls and play acting,it’s a quarter final not last match of the season were you need a point to stay up,by the way make that keeper no 1 he’s head and shoulders better than Pickford and that’s only seeing him after one game ..

Great grinding win. I agree with the posters who think Everton should be a tad embarrassed. What are views on Sterlings performance? Somethings not right. He just smiles after every bumble into blind alleys or misplaced pass. He beat his marker a few times to be balanced but he is not affecting the game sufficiently for my liking. Very frustrating.

They did, but then when you offer absolutely nothing going forward and attempt to do nothing going forward the game is only going to end one way against us. Everton tried to bully and kick us of the park and that was their only tactic tonight.

Sterling was poor at times. Two encouraging signs from that lad though, he never hides and he never quits. He'll be fine
