Everton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Thank you Captain Obvious;-)
Sometimes the straightforward answer is the correct answer.

I’m done now slagging everyone and getting upset. I have accepted it will take time to rebuild.

The last 12 years have been a blast. This season is awful and we must all fucking suffer together.

No one is allowed to leave -:)

Makes me laugh that everyone is hyping up Oscar Bobb like he’s some world beater we’re missing.

Let’s be honest, he’s still young and hasn’t done much to warrant that regard.

Him, Savinho, Doku etc all far below the standard of player we’re used to seeing on the wings (Mahrez, Sterling, Sane etc).

Need to break the bank in Jan.
I never said Oscar Bobb was a "world beater", He's a hell of alot better than what we do have in wide areas, He has end product which can't be said for Grealish, Doku and Savinho.

I agree Sane, Sterling and Mahrez are all on a whole new level that what we currently have as Doku and Savinho in particular are nowhere near the levels required to complete for silverware.

We ain't breaking the bank for any winger in January in my opinion, I'd love us to sign two new wingers but we all know that won't happen as they'll give Doku and Savinho time...Time that's going to cost us in the long run.

As I said I'm looking forward to having Bobb back at least I know he'll produce something when he gets into the final third, Instead of pissing about looking at our current wingers like headless chickens.

At the game.

We should have been 3 up Gvardiol post Bernardo with a pathetic left foot shot on a certain goal. Add the Haaland miss it's should have been a comfortable day.

Absolutely nowhere near as bad as many make out. Confidence very low, we didn't lose have to take it on the chin.

As so often, utterly pathetic finishing costs us.

And again, their first attempt on target goes in. It’s almost every game, even when we were winning we’d need about 25 shots for 2 or 3 goals. Now we’re not even getting those.

If we get any serious point deduction then we cold well be relegated. That was as bad an Everton team I've ever seen, and we couldn't beat them. Really hard to see where the next win is coming from. All it takes is this run to continue for the next few games and then our fixtures become awful looking again end of January into February. Even a point deduction of 15/20 could be enough to send us down.
The championship monsters will devour these jokers

Very frustrating one, well on top, miss chances for a second then Everton score and we don’t get going again for the rest of the half. Then started like a train second half and get the penalty (why no second yellow it was as clear a yellow as could be). Once the penalty was saved we looked shot.

No idea why Erling took so long over the penalty. Whenever that happens the chances of scoring seem to drop.

Biggest concern for me is how we defend. Doucoure had zero pressure crossing for the goal. Lewis was marking no one and was never got near him and we looked very vulnerable from corners. We at least caused them problems initially from set pieces but the longer the match went on the worse our set pieces got.

Wasnt a good performance but the game was there to win.

Any other season, Haaland puts the pen away and we don't think about this game ever again. Any other season City see out that 1 nil on Utd.

After reading the first few pages of this thread it seems to be supporters who didn't attend the game that have posted and saying we played shlte
I thought we played OK and were just unfortunate. We could quite easily have scored four if we'd buried those three guilt edge chances

Comedy of errors though in the build up to their goal

Oh just fuck off. Rico Lewis was ok today and he just seems to get the blame no matter what.

Every single post that name checks Rico, a 20 year old kid, ignores every other completely shit player to push your weird fucking agenda.

Gvardiol was by some distance the worst player on the pitch along with haaland, but yeah, let's just slag off Lewis. It's either clueless or you just want to blame a player rather than the ineptitude of gvardiol, savinho's lack of end product, or haalands complete lack of interest.

Maybe it's watching the game at home but in the ground it was terrifyingly obvious haaland can't be fucked and gvardiol can't place a pass and is never in position.
Agree mate , he’s become the whipping boy , he brings energy , unlike some of the cunts ambling around the pitch , Gvardiol goals aside is fucking dogshite for one , you can go through the team , Haaland is becoming a big problem , we need another man in midfield - and I’d go false nine again tomorrow tbh , Haaland has done absolutely fuck all for weeks now.

I did think we were better today at least compared with the derby debacle which cost me a ban but people talking about a recovery of challenging for top 4 are in utter cuckoo land
We were labored and meek for much of the game.

Every one of our players is well below their best and have lost all their confidence and I don't see it getting any better until we restructure the whole side and Pep decides if he is part of the problem and changes his ways for the better.

Nothings changed I expect Leicester to beat us on Sunday..
Lol, leicester are gonna roll over today and save themselves to get points v us! and who can blame em.

As for the game today, looked ok till we conceded, then confidence was shot.

Came out second half with intention until the missed pen, then confidence went again.

Lucky to get a draw in the end and I dont know what the answer is.

Anyway, as some of us know, a relegation battle can be just as exciting as a title race.

Whatever happens, CTID.

Until Bernardo's opener, both Lewis & Gvardiol played as full backs, & Everton were pinned back as they had zero space out wide to launch counter-attacks into
Pretty much sums up my earlier view - for 15 minutes we looked settled and MUCH improved.
Inexplicably, after we scored, we reverted to everything that has got us to this point.
So I ask: were the players playing against instructions for 15 minutes, and Pep gave firm instructions to revert to type?? Or did he choose to revert to type hoping we'd regained some confidence and it would miraculously all come together again???
Either way it's a worry that we had something working and turned away from it!
