Because - like so many on here I’ve become a far better tactician than Pep over the last month or so - I think it’s pretty obvious where our current problems are. We need goal scorers in midfield and the back line needs dropping 10 yards back. Seems so obvious to me but there must be a reason for persisting with the mental high line - I just can’t see it. Also most of Walkers problems seem to be coming when he’s out wide at right back - still thinking he can give a player 10 yards start. He can’t anymore. And Gunda needs dropping. He offers nothing at the moment and is killing us. So…
………………………Ortega…………………….
…….Walker….…Akanji…….Gvardiol…
………….Lewis………………Kovatic………
……………Debruyne…..Foden…………
Doku…………….Haaland………Grealish
(Ake instead of Walker if fit)

Simple ;)

Got to get some kind of attacking impetus and legs into the team
So
Ortega
Walker
Akanji
Gvardiol
Lewis
Kova
Nunes
KDB
Foden
Doku
Haaland

This biggest problem is just selecting a fit defence (hence Walker)
No way Simpson Pussey, Everton will be all over him
Nunes needs to play central for the legs
Gundo & Bernie have zero impact
KDB has has a prolonged rest and needs to start to try and get us ahead
What a mess we have become

If Grealish is fit he has to be played, and in the middle. In the middle, Pep. He's got legs, he won't be panicked, he's got energy and control. Kova deep, Grealish just in front of him. No Gundo. He was never supposed to play match after match anyway. We've got other players to play wing. I'd like Savinho to be brought back in, for a start.

Waiting to see the team at 11:15am with Rico Lewis, Kyle Walker, Bernardo and Gundogan in it and Groundhog Day again.
Watched Groundhog Day yesterday for about the 30th time. It starts off terrible for Bill Murray with the first 10 or so days being terrible with the odd good bit thrown in, then it suddenly clicks. The days get better and better as he stops being a miserable shit and in the end he wins the trophy and all is good again. He just needed to trust the process

No idea how this one goes, Everton are in decent form but based more on defensive solidity than anything else. It would be great to get at them early, hopefully a decent atmosphere.

If nothing else at least we can’t batter them and have Cahill pinch the points and do that annoying boxing thing at the corner flag. Hope for a bouncing stadium, good atmosphere and some proper attacking football and of course 3 points.

Everton - Premier League

Last 12 - Wins 3, Draws 7, Defeats 2
Goals F-10 and A - 7 (4x 0-0 in last 6 games)

They use Back 5 of Pickford, Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko
Young is 39 and we have criticised Walker for being too old now. City need to be careful of Tarkowski at corners he is a corner set piece king even more than Gabriel is at Arsenal.

They do have Harrison and Ndiaye on the wings and I expect them to try and exploit our fullbacks. I think we need to exploit their fullbacks as I consider that to be also Everton’s weakest area.
I believe young is out through a yellow card suspension

Ortega
Walker Akanji Ake Gvardiol
Kova
Doku Grealish
KDB
Haaland Foden

No Young who has been their best defender this year(wtf).
If City try to loop it in for headers they will get fuck all against Tark and Brainthwaite.
Play it to Haalands feet and take low driven shots against T Rex arms. Have Foden play the SS role Kevin did before against Arsenal.

Akanji and Ake back at all times, Josko and Walker step up to help Kova. Doku and Grealish terrorize on the wings.
