Everton in middle-east takeover?

Every premier league club voted didn't they.

I'm talking about the PL FFP rules here.. Not UEFA's?

Ahh got you. Figured you'd be talking about the big one, not the PL's imitation brand FFP. Fair enough then, yes they did vote for it.

One report (although it was the Mail or Mirror) says he's going to put £100m in. Not sure how much credence you can place on that but, as we've seen, you need years of investment and a lot more than £100m to make a significant difference.

With the new tv momey on board, even sides near the bottom will be splashing £30, £40 Million on players as the battle to stay in the league hots up even further.

As you say its a pittance.

Nice to see them with Iranian owners. After all the abuse they gave us, they are now owned by a country that has just had sanctions lifted... Haha wonder if they will still knock our owners after this takeover

Will the new owner have the tea lady stoned to death if she doesn't make his brew strong enough?!?

Be interesting to see all the media and pundits turn against them, esp if they start doing well.

£100 million in today's football world is nothing as previously said. when you consider the refusal of liverpool council to stall the stadium project re walton hall park as it would cost £300 million it puts it in greater context.

seems to me in effect the new owner isn't really putting much money in if this is his best shot - Its kind of saying they can spend all the new TV money coming in on players - gives the illusion of being a moneybags owner until everybody gets to realise £100m is ( sadly ) like £2m was about 7 - 10 years ago. Smoke and mirrors ?

when you think of the stick we hard started to take over Shinawatra money and is dubious sources and then Chelsea and the Abramovich money I mean fuckin Iran !!!! A pariah state FFS !! Of course ours will still be "dirty oil money" - theirs will be clean - if you disagree their owner will have a cleric stick a fatwah on you. Salman Rushdie will have to send his season ticket back now.

There are a few billionaire owners of football clubs, yet many owners/shareholders are content to receive decent dividends rather than heavily invest. Mike Ashley's net worth of approx. 4bn hasn't really done much for the Magpies.
