Everton Post Match Thread

We wouldn't be talking about one decision if we had a striker that could actually find the net. We should really be coasting it this year. Arsenal and Leicester are running away with it on the grounds that ourselves, Chelsea and United have all self destructed.

It's ridiculous that we went into this season with only three strikers. Aguero, Bony and Nacho. We knew fully well that one was injury prone, another hadn't proved anything the previous year and Nacho is never going to be given a chance. Pellegrini just doesn't give young players the opportunity.

It astounds me how every year the squad seems to get considerably weaker over time. We once had Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli and Aguero. It's the same in that holding midfield positon. We had Barry, then Garcia and then Fernando. Granted, Barry was getting pasted in the champions league, but we hardly improved with his replacement.

Some strange decisions all around.

Yep no doubt we are weaker than 3/4 years ago which is quite frankly criminal

Pellegrini got that XI spot on today. There were a lot of people on the prematch who were onto him. He could get Kelechi on but Navas and Sterling were important , so you could probably only take off our DM (Fernando).
We dominated the game, very unlucky to not get 3 and we played really well.

if he had got it spot on we would have won. pellegrini is getting on my tits, why was nacho non existant???

I cant beleive we didnt get the Sterling penalty it was a nailed on 1. Everton parked the bus. MP should of used more of his bench but didnt knowing our luck we are just not getting fuck all decisions from refs I wonder what the ref watch on sky will say about that decision. A fucking joke of a ref.

As far as the pens go, I think the refs have pegged Kun and Sterling as divers. And to be fair they have both been guilty of taking a dive once or twice. The Aguero one was a foul, but he was outside of the box. The Sterling one... Well that was a clear penalty in my opinion. I think he didn't give it because the ball was heading out. Regardless, it should have been a PK.

As for the match itself, we played decent but didn't take our opportunities. Howard was excellent. Their back 4 was excellent. Barry must have blocked at least 4-5 shots.

(Liverpool just scored, HE'LL YEAHHH!!! Looks like we won't fall further behind Arsenal)

The thing that gets me is the inability to find anyone in the middle with a cross. With the exception of Kolarov and one or two crosses that Sagna/KDB have put in this season we are TERRIBLE at crossing the ball. It probably doesn't help that Kun is short, but still. In a match like that with Everton playing 9/10 men behind the ball we needed effective crossing and needed to be able to pick someone out. Didn't happen.

Again credit to Everton, specifically Howard, Barry and the back 4. Oh and of course, fuck the ref!!!

Really :S?

So, basically, if the ref was not bent we would be 1 point off the top with a better goal difference. If I had a cat I would kick it.
